Winter Releases

Post by SirClive » Thu Sep 15, 2011 7:26 pm

I have bought possibly 2 or 3 games so far this year and haven't really played those. The only highlight being LA Noire, though even that didn't keep my attention. However, I am quite excited by the run in to the end of the year. My picks are here, what are yours?

Batman: Arkham City
Uncharted 3
Gears of War 3
FIFA 12

Dark Souls and Uncharted 3 are the key games i'm really looking forward to.

Going for Ico/Shadow HD collection as only scratched surface of Ico at the time on PS2, never tried Shadow. Also HD wise, plan to pick up HD collections for MGS+S.H.

Gears 3? despite owning/finishing 1st 2, not feeling anything towards 3rd. L.A Noire, trying that at the moment, not to my own liking, game never seems to get going and seems more of a case of trail+error during interviews etc.

Pro Evo 2012 - on 360 (hope its better this year)

MW3 - Hardened on 360 (pre ordered)

Rage on 360

No doubt some other less advertised games will find their way into my collection , but those 4 im looking foward to the most.

I'm currently saving for Sonic Generations. I don't care what anybody else thinks, I want it . Saints Row the Third has also intrigued me.

Probably the best games I've played so far this year are Bulletstorm and Child of Eden. The latter is a more than worthy sequel to Rez, and the former imho is a good old-style blaster which succeeded in actually being both funny and fun to play. If only Duke Nukem Forever had been that way.

Batman Arkham City is the game I'm looking forward to most by far. I'll also grab Uncharted 3, Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3, Sonic Generations, maybe Skyrim (might wait for the inevitable patches to fix the ton of glitches) and the Team Ico Collection. Probably forgetting a load, so many nice looking games coming out in the next couple of months.

Seen the "leaked" gameplay footage from it on Youtube? (about 30 minutes worth). Even as a huge Capcom/RE fan even I couldn't be optimistic about that game

Looking forward to getting a few...

Skyrim

Really looking forward to this; the kill animations look great, though I'm not keen on being pulled out of first-person to see them...

UMVC3

Pays to have a little patience, sometimes. Screw you, CAPCOM, I'll buy your game now thanks. Same goes for the inevitable Ultimate Street Fighter X Tekken, you thieving pikey gits!

King of Fighters XIII

Looks bloody amazing, and the character roster is fleshed out some (yes, including Mai). Hope there's a bit more for single players to do this time...

Black Rock Shooter

Looks quite good, from the YouTube clips.

Project Diva Extend

Blatantly more of the same, but I did like the other two.

I rarely, if ever, play games on release. I usually wait at least 6 months, when the price has dropped, as I play so many different games across at least three platforms that I simply have neither the time nor the desire to buy and play a game on release. I'm a patient gamer!

I used to always buy PES on release, but that has been worse than pony on next-gen, and FIFA bores me to tears.

However, I may make an exception for Skyrim; but then it always pays to wait for a decent patch and a level-cap rise when it comes to Bethesda games. It's a tough decision.

My Gears 3 has been despatched today so I'm looking forward to that and then Saints Row 3, which looks all kinds of crazy.

I've got 8 on the to buy list and another 6 that I want to play frmo this year. I usually buy stuff for launch but I've given that up as crazy. My bank balance won't forgive me!
