Best of... less popular games Xbox 360

Post by Riddler » Thu Sep 15, 2011 11:43 am

Sorry, "Current Gen" topic alert

I'm in the midst of getting in to some of the lesser known (or liked) titles on this system. Mainly becasue they are cheap and i can't believe you can actually but 360 games for £5 or less, it's great!

So i'm looking at titles like:
Prototype,
Dark void,
Deadly Premonition,
Eternal Sonata,
Full Auto.

Surely all great titles you would buy if they were available for £5-£10.
Can anyone suggest their favorite "overlooked" games on the 360?

Titles about a fiver: Definitely worth it:

Crackdown.
Wheelman.
Prey.
Stranglehold.
The Darkness.

Every single one of these is worth the money. I wouldn't have bought any for £40-£50 but a fiver a pop is too good to be true! Even short games like Wheelman (about 6-10hrs with more for optional Open World sandbox missions) is worth it.

It's actually my personal "Forgotten Gem." :D

Originally it was a hit because it was a case of "Buy the Halo 3 Beta and get a free game".

It just happened that game was pretty damn good! I didn't finish the game as i spent most of my time collecting orbs, trying to get to the top of the Agency tower and generally messing around.

Conan. It looks a bit shoddy, as if development started on a last gen system, but its a decent God of War type game. A decent move set, reasonable enemy variation and plenty of locations. I really enjoyed it. How many other games let you cut someone in half and have their entrails spill out?

Battle Fantasia. A solid 2D fighter with a great visual style and inventive characters, but got ignored for some reason.

Rise Of The Argonauts, fairly basic and simplistic Hack 'N' Slash with RPG elements, but it has a good story and overall a decent game.

I think its less popular, at least it doesn't get mentioned often, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. My favourite game on the 360 alongside Mass Effect 2. It used every colour of the rainbow, had an amazing hub world, and was pure fun.

Not finished it but Tales of Vesperia is a solid RPG that I reckon is a contestant for best JRPG of this gen.

Oh, and Call of Duty
Chazz it up!!!

Yeah, you can select an option to respawn everybody you've taken down but keep all your skills. It's a good way to max out your character if you're Achievement chasing.

Other "overlooked" gems include:

Viva Pinata
Mini Ninjas
Sega Rally
(Not the rip-off new one)

It can be found quite cheap now and i reckon it will be one of the harder to find titles in many years to come.

Another vote for Battle Fantasia from me. Give it a go it's a really nice underated fighter and I've seen it for as little as a fiver & thats for a brand new copy in HMV iirc.
