What games do you hate that everybody else seems to love

I'll admit, I hate the Call of Duty games. Really, just not my kind of thing. Somebody I was speaking to the other day was shocked about this because apparently everybody else can't get enough of them.

So it got me thinking, there must be a lot of other people on the forum who really dislike certain games that most people love.

Halo Halo Halo. I really don't understand the love that game gets. Really, it is a fairly average shooter with a crap story and some impressive sounding place names.

Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.

Guaranteed to get me swearing.

Fiddly controls, pixel perfect jumps. Not fun at all.

Jet set willy , seriously , its a quirky platformer with a couple of zany level names, a broken difficulty level and rubbish floaty controls..I've never understood why people go nuts for it.

Half Life 1 & 2 spring to mind for me.

Could never really get into them, however HL1 did spawn the most played on-line mod ever Counterstrike (*citation needed).

So can't really hate them for what they did for PC On-line gameplay.

Every Grand Theft Auto game I've tried. Load of charmless w*nk, horrible to control, stupid errand running and timed/escort missions and something horribly smug and arrogant about the way they're presented. Can't see why anyone over the age of 12 wouldn't find them obnoxious.

Only ever played GTA on the DS and thought that was boring, won't be bothering with any others after that.

I don't tend to hate games I just don't find some appealing, like Call of Duty. Played some online with a mate and in all honesty I just found to be very boring and dull.

Also couldn't get into Mass Effect, again found it to be dull and boring.

Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars on 3DS. I honestly feel it's one of the worst games I've ever played. Doesn't seem to have a single thing going for it.

Strider (Arcade): It's antiquated, and frankly, a lot of its charm is anchored in its context, not its lasting appeal.

Star Wars: Rogue Leader (Rogue Squadron 2) (GCN): Fiddly, wonky, generally aimless and confusing.

Mortal Kombat (1-8) (Arcade/Various)- Coated with some nostalgia of my youth, but outside of its gory gimmickery, it's barely a real game.

Note: Lads, listing the likes of COD, Halo or whatever big modern franchise, tend to be hated by 'real' gamers i.e. the folk on the forums, so
I doubt that qualifies as everybody within context.

They are criminally boring, and frankly a complete waste of time and effort

Super Mario after Super Mario Bros on the NES

Cant say I like any of them tbf played most up until Sunshine. I Dont get all the hooha. Super Mario World and Mario 64 are the worst offenders. Cant stand either of them

Final Fantasy (pick a number)

No redeeming features and massively over rated

Bulletstorm-Looked sweet, but crass humour, shallow gameplay put me off, but then never a fan of Duke Nukem 3D or Serious Sam.

MGS4-MGS3 and Peacewalker were far better games, did'nt require a Blu-ray and numerous instals, just to satisfy a frustrated game designer who really wanted to get into the film industry.

duke nukem rampant unfunny crass fps that only a 12 year old could think was funny

final fantasy 10 and 13 for various reasons ( 10 costing 75 euro on release being a ful year late and still be letter boxed didnt help much either )

gran turismo series its a bloody rpg in a driver jacket all you do is grind and grind and grind and then grind some more

medal of honor for kick starting the ww 2 fps craze and inflicting cod on us damn you moh !

gta 4 taking it self far too seriously

portal its just a bloody puzzle game and the humor isnt that funny either
