Punted a PS2 Slim accross my room.

It was the NINTH one I'd bought.... the 8 previous ones had died, almost all to the dreaded DRE.... and I was getting just a BIT tired of the things and their extreme failure rate.

It's a stupid act, but..... I honestly never regretted it. The damn thing seriously had it coming.

It's the only one of them that *I* damaged/wrecked, as opposed to it wrecking itself.

Made me feel better, at least.

I left a large box of playstation one games outside my bedroom (leads onto garden) and well, i forgot and it rained.

Bye bye minty copies of some of the rarest ps1 pal games around.

Just a few for me...

Had a game on the Vic 20 (can't remember what it was) where you controlled a burglar (or policeman) and had to run as fast as you could through good ol'fashioned joystick waggling. I thought it would be a great idea to take my trusty Quickshot II, hold it on it's SIDE and repeatedly hit it on top. It worked and I was able to run a lot fast but for some reason the joystick didn't work afterwards...!

Knackered the drive tray on my original PS2 when I forgot that I had a put a box on the floor in front of it and still tried to eject a disc. Instead of letting it go back in on it's own and trying again, like an idiot I just pulled the draw out but not quite level and it made a rather unhealthy crunching noise and wouldn't go back in again.

Finally, leant my GBA to an ex along with my entire game collection. When I tried to get everything back she "lost" Super Mario Advance denying that she ever had it from me, and a couple of DVDs and other bits. Not quite my fault that one, but it's made me very wary about lending things to people from now on.

I once pulled the interface out of my Spectrum 48k+ without turning the machine off to be met with a screen of coloured blocks and pixels and nothing else.

Cost me £20-25 to get fixed which was a lot of pocket money for a kid in secondary school in the late 80's....Funny thing is I knew that this kind of thing could happen but proved a costly couple of seconds of laziness :(

Many moons ago, I was playing "Bionic Commando" for the ZX Spectrum 128k

Got to the last level, and my mom shouted up the stairs that my tea was ready....I was not impressed!
Kept telling her that I will be down shortly etc...
She wasn't having any of it and said if I dont come down to eat she will pull the plug out...
I continued to yell and scream and refusing to come down stairs, I then heard footsteps coming up the staircase lol...
In a fit of rage, I climbed ontop of my bunk bed and jumped on the spectrum :(

A shameful repost from me from this thread:

Anyways, for those who didn't see it the first time...
ToxieDogg wrote:I have no idea what possessed me to do this, but on one occassion, after losing my last life by missing a jump whilst trying to get the last star on Spellbound Dizzy on the Speccy and being faced with having to play the whole game through again, I decided to 'punish' my old Speccy +2A for it's cheating by wedging the end of a screwdriver underneath the spacebar and thumping the handle end, thus prising off the spacebar (which was also the key that made Dizzy jump), sending it flying into the air and causing me great amusement. My fun was short lived however, when I found that I couldn't get the spacebar back on straight and then had to put up with it sticking up at a funny angle for the rest of the Speccy's life and only working when I pressed it on the side that was sticking up

Also, after being beaten by Kintaro for the umpteenth time on SNES Mortal Kombat 2, my controller hit the ground so hard that the R button snapped clean off  Had to buy a new controller after that, and I've treated my stuff like the Crown Jewels ever since.

As a kid we owned an Acorn Electron where I spent many happy hours attempting to load games via the tape drive by setting the volume/load level to the right setting...

Anyway, years later when I owned a Sega Gamegear I ended up getting curious about the carriage connector on the back of the Acorn Electron, so for some reason decided to plug in a Gamegear cartridge of Sonic the Hedgehog into it...

There was a smell of burning electronics and a broken Acorn Electronic a broken Sonic cartridge, whoops! :(

Worst thing I ever did was buy a 1942 arcade cabinet.

The PCB had been taken out for transport, and when I put it back that same evening I got it, I accidentally inserted the board the wrong way.

Cue smoke and crackling sounds. Board was now DOA (or more precisely: shortly after arrival). Killed before I could even try it the first time. :(

....well, it inspired me to buy some other boards. :D

My childhood is filled with Spectrum tapes flying at lightspeed towards the nearest wall, where they'd usually crack open, letting the tapey-bit unravel. Ah well.

Probably tripping over my myriad PS2 cables whilst inebriated and pulling it off my dresser where it landed with an almighty crash upon my new PRS guitar. Not only was my console ruined, but my rather expensive instrument now had a massive chunk taken out of the body! I did eventually get over it though, with much crying and further drinking

^ Hope she kept the receipt, then she should get my mum on the case.

Honestly, that woman can get a refund on ANYTHING!
Case in point, my brother's first PS2 - no box, no receipt, no leads and with noticeable marks from where he had to force open the disc tray with a knife so he could remove Tekken Tag Tournament - 5 minutes in Dixons, £299 safely in her purse!

When prepping my old 586 PC for a Windows 95 install, worried about HD space I figured the way forward was to delete Windows 3.1 first. By manually binning everything in the "Windows" directory.

On CHRISTMAS DAY, not half an hour after my niece had unwrapped it, my brother-in-law trod on the disc tray of her brand new PS3.

Actually, I think you're right. He stood on something that was jutting out which completely killed it though.
Wasn't there and don't have one, but one thing I know for sure is that she barely spoke to him for about a fortnight afterwards, even after they'd wangled a replacement.
