What's the most talk about video games?

Post by thl » Thu Nov 02, 2006 6:18 am

I have to go back to the year 1992/1993. Back in primary school, some pupils in my class were also a bunch of game addicts, something that we had in common.

The games that they kept talking about was listed:

Megaman
Mario
Sonic
Street Fighter II
Mortal Kombat

It's both funny and strange that after the day when Gamesmaster screened the Mortal Kombat special, everyone starts talking about it straight away. I remember one guy from my class asked anyone this question 'did you saw Mortal Kombat on Gamesmaster?'. Then they responded to it and discussed about characters, special moves, fatalities, etc. that went on for ages.

Also I remembered during break time, they use to do their own voice acting plus choreographing the action/fight sequence. Despite being so mesmerized by the impact of the game, they did went quite far with it which end up being too comedic.

Funnily enough, despite being a gamer for many years through school and beyond I think I probably talk about games more theses days. Part of the daily routine at work is to get coffee then stand around for the first hour or so chatting about what we're playing. Lots of WoW talk (which I don't mind even though I don't play it any more).

When I was at lower school, 13-16 years ago, my friends and I used to play "Sonic The Hedgehog" on breaks, or "playtime". Good times, how I miss those times. Always get a feeling of nostalgia every time I think about those retro days.
