Although it shares a common vehicle, LHX is more a sim so I presumed that's what he's after. Could be wrong though, and Desert strike is brilliant and well worth playing!

 Yeah sims weren't its thing. If you just try them then you absolutely have to play at 60Hz otherwise they are toooo slooowwww. You're looking at the likes of LHX Attack Chopper, F117 Nighthawk and Mig-29 Fulcrum.

Oh and yeah the Desert Strike series is awesome, it was designed to be played with a rapid fire joypad though for the chaingun (according to a SEGA Power tips video from back in they day, probabaly on You Tube.

Burning Force & Alisia Dragoon. Also Mercs.
The square is a great shape, and one that is criminally underused in modern game design. In the push to ever more granular, chaotic environments, games have lost sight of the simple pleasures of right angles and straight lines.

I've never played Burning Force. I'll have to see if I can pick it up.

mercs is on my wishlist.

i was a big fan of lhx back in the day, my favourite sim before that was f15 strike eagle 2 on the pc (i think it was called that, we are going back over 25 years now  )

my other massive focus is racing games, due to dyspraxia my hand eye co-ordination is terrible (add to that i am almost completely blind in one eye) and its fairly astonishing i am so good at them (i enter any competition i can at events for racing games and consistently do quite well somehow)

so yeah, any md racing game recommendations welcome- i have virtua racing, monaco gp 1, micro machines 1, 2 and turbo tournament, power drive and i think thats it. looking at kawasaki superbikes, the nigel mansell indycar one, monaco gp 2, and probably f1

Surprised Darran is not all over this thread like a 50 year old at a 18-30 bar.

Anyone with a megadrive should have Mercs. 2 very playable versions in one almost makes up for a lack of 2 player. The music and graphics are ace. So much so that I can find myself whistling the ending music at any random time (also happens with SoR2 as well).
If you havent got it , i'll keep an eye out for a copy on my travels.

Been playing super shinobi 2 tonight. It's fantastic fun and much begter than revenge of shinobi. Also played censored tracy, but it's a little fiddly compared to what I remember.

I also think it's better than 'Revenge' - in fact i never liked 'Revenge' very much at all. Shadow Dancer is better too.
