I know my original Revenge of SHinobi had original Spiderman colours , cant remember now if Batman was right though. I sent a hidden item guide into Mean Machines back in the day and remember the copyright notice that was on the opening credit things for spiderman , but cant recall if batman was on there either.Damn you old age.

when in doubt poke around on the authority on the megadrive sega 16
http://www.sega-16.com/2007/09/double-t ... f-shinobi/
http://www.sega-16.com/2004/06/revenge-of-shinobi/

at the time sega had the liscense to spiderman so thats how they got away with him but the other two had to be changed

"And those bosses! Who would have thought that one game would have you battle everything from Spider-Man to Godzilla? Yeah, I know that Tokyo’s favorite dino is a mere look-alike (so is Batman), but you have to admit that it’s far more than just a passing resemblance. I guess they were too close to their inspirations for Toho and DC Comics, as Sega made several revisions to the game over the next few years, changing all but Spidey himself (Sega had the license for the character at the time). I recommend that anyone wanting the definitive The Revenge of Shinobi experience track down a copy of version 1.00, which can be determined by the lack of a copyright notice at the start screen."

no spiderman copyright marvel comics ?
then you have v 1.00
hey wait ! i got a new complaint !

cheers for the links :) some deserved revenge of shinobi love on there.

i am positive my original PAL copy had godzilla in it, because i swear blind i'd never seen the skeleton godzilla untill i got this japanese cart a week or two ago, odd.......i remember heading down to the shop with my birthday money in 1990 and picking up a copy for £35 and playing that fooker to death, but i'm old so its probably confusion setting in.

anyway i'll have to keep a look out for the uncensored version i guess....or just save my money up to get a copy of super shinobi 2 instead.

yes the seller is very definitely an idiot..... or is some sort of ultra advanced intergalactic super genius.

£600 gets you a copy of altered beast

£1000 gets you a copy of sonic the hedgehog

i guess they are in an acrylic box though.

and feature the shoddy genesis artwork.

seems like a bargain.

The ooze is great, my son loves it. I think playing a puddle of ooze appeals to him lol

I've seen the 32x's go for silly money on eBay these and games are something else! Chaotix for 100 quid? Sure thing!
£100 for chaotix?

Its not even that great a game! Should i put my copy on ebay??? :)

Chaotix does generally go for that amount. It's quite the rarity, especially in good condition.

As I've recently had a tidy and clearout I thought I'd post a few pics of my MD collection - so if anyone is remotely interested at all feel free to check out the photobucket link below.

I got a few nice things over the week for my MD.
It's the Pal Asian model with both a region and frequency mod installed.
I finally picked up an RGB cable, and the games look stunning.
I also got Valis, Gynoug, Strider and Virtua Racing, all japanese carts.
They all look great but I'm especially happy to get Virtua Racing as now I have a fairly complete set, with the 3 regions of Virtua Racing for the MD as well the 32X, Saturn [ :( ] and PS2 versions all in my collection.
I also have it running, via emulation, on my Atomiswave SD cab, which is nice!

I noticed though that my CDX is getting precious little playtime over the last couple of years, still looks great though, I have it about 15 years and I'll never sell.
Must pick up a Mega CD for both the aforementioned Pal Asian MD and my bog-standard MD2+32X combo. They just look better with them installed!
Colecovision under repair! Superior Donkey Kong incoming!!
