Sonic 1 to be re-released next month on the GBA.

Post by C4 » Thu Oct 26, 2006 12:46 pm

This might be old news, but earlier this month, Sega announced that it would release a slightly-upgraded version of the first title in the Sonic universe for the Game Boy Advance during the middle of next month. Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis will feature a save option and extra spin attack abilities from the sequels. It only confirmed to be released in North America at present.

And for only near twice the price of the Sonic Mega Collection on every other format!

Possibly one of the most pointless releases ever, methinks.

Gee, I guess this answers the question "How do you make an easy game easier"

& I thought the NES classics range was a pretty blatant attempt at money grabbing...

Excellent! So glad that Sonic is still as strong as ever!

Yeah, the extras will make it easier, no doubt, but I like that they're introducing it again. It will reintroduce the platformer to a bunch of new folks.

But, yeah, you can also view it as Sega trying to cash-in.
