Do Games Get Better With Technology?

Post by Paradux » Sun Mar 13, 2011 3:22 pm

I'm doing some research into whether or not games have gotten better over time due to the massive changes in technology.

What are your opinions? Retro or new? Control pad or kinect? PC or console? Whatever!

Please discuss!

Please note I'm asking this here knowing the response I'll get here: http://forums.gametrailers.com/thread/d ... w_32897104

no
most developers fancy themselves movie studio's these days and throw in a few interactive bits in between the endless cutscenes so it can still be called a game
hey wait ! i got a new complaint !

Yes, without doubt.

Even the history of retro is one of technological advancement leading to better games.

Nope, I think todays generation of 16-bit consoles beats the ass of those 8-bit pieces of junk... apparently Sega and Nintendo are working on CD based add-ons

Not in my experience - I'm a lot more interested in a game being fun and enjoyable over mind-blowing graphics etc.

When you think you've got problems you don't really need,
They're maybe not as bad as they seem,
Cos in a world full of misery, with hatred and greed,
Your problems are another man's dream.
