Just been having a bash on mame on the xbox. Was playing Guardians of the Hood what a load of censored.
Anyway was scrolling down the list of games and got me thinking about how much money i stuck in them when i was a lad.Pretty sure that Street fighter 2 got the most money out of me back then. Was also a sucker for gun and driving cabs Powerdrfit/Chase hq and Operation Wolf/Thunderbolt they took all my spending in one night(£30) when i was at Butlins Minehead on a weeks holiday in.
So what do you reckon has sucked up the most coins out of your sky rocket and any interesting tales that go with it?(Like the time you robbed the charity cllection tin from the newsagents counter to go and play Robocop in the local chippy etc)

I'm tempted to say SF2, but memory recalls that I was never a serious multiplayer gamer on that. I preferred the easier and longer singleplayer experience for my dough.
I'd say R-Type. All those ten pences and I still couldn't beat it. What a monster.

I stuck about eight or nine quid in Pit Fighter in one go, just to complete it.
I also used to pump a few quid into Mad Dog McRee every week when it was down our local bowling alley. I dread to think how much I've spent on that piece of sh-t over the years.
Not covering myself in glory with either of those there!
Oh and Gauntlet & Smash TV, now THEY were money pits!

Not sure which one exactly but it'd be one of Asteroids, Star Wars (Atari), Operation Wolf, OutRun, R-Type and After Burner.

Street Fighter 2 for me. I was obsessed with that game. I used to go to the local aracde at 10am in the Summer Holidays, as I knew that's when it opened and I would get some practice in before the better players arrived.
Outside of Street Fighter I would guess I have also put a lot of credits into Daytona USA, and Point Blank, as I always seemed to encounter those machines at various places for a while.

I probably put the most into Bubble Bobble. It was in my local for years.
The machines in there before Bubble Bobble arrived got plenty of my money (Defender, Carnival, Moon Cresta, Gyruss) but Bubble Bobble was in the place so long it beats the others hands down.
The asteroids machine at the local baths got a fair amount of money too.
Another machine I sank a fair bit of money into was at the squash club. Monday afternoons, double period of games, into the school minibus and off to the squash club. And straight over to the machine in the corner of the lobby, the very excellent Dingo.

In all honesty, I'd have to say that the money I put into arcade machines is probably a pittance compared to the money I put into quiz machines in later years.
Especially that snooker one.

Probably Killer Instinct 2 for me. Though I also spent a fair bit on Tekken 3 and Time Crisis too.
