Pc Games you'd like to see

Post by Darran@Retro Gamer » Tue Mar 08, 2011 9:52 am

As has been pointed out on numerous occasions by certain readers, we're apparently rather light on PC content.
I've now got DOS box fully up and running (one of the main reasons for the lack of coverage in the past) and have already put together a classic game on Star Wars Dark Forces and a few other bits and bobs that will be appearing in issue 89.

If there's anything in particular that you'd love to see covered then let us know and we'll see what we can do.

The early Fallout games with some emphasis given to the very excellent (in its day) Wasteland, the game that paved the way for the franchise.

Failing that, then Lola: The Sexy Empire sounds like it has a lot of promise.

Yeah Lula, does sound pretty interesting. Plus I'd love to do a sex game feature in the mag. I doubt it would make the cover though...

Magic: The Gathering - Spells of the Ancients
Championship Manager
Civilisation II

Aside from Speccy Emulation, these were the only games I had on my pc for about five years from about 98 to '03 and I played them incessantly. Dunno if any of them would make that great a feature though.

Hmm, tough one since a lot of my PC faves were probably better on (or at least would be covered on) other systems.

Off the top of my head I'd like to see:

X-Wing / Tie Fighter
Wing Commander (any of them)
Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix games
Anything by Sierra
Anything by id
Unreal (the first one)
Half life (any of them)
Jazz Jackrabbit (or anything Apogee)
Fatal Racing
Stunts
The Need for Speed series
Alley Cat (this would be awesome to see!)
Thexder
The Carmen Sandiago games

How about some of the weird console ports we got on PC? There was a terrible Street fighter 2 port and that funny looking Megaman that was released. There's probably more, I just can't think of them.

Same here.

All the pc stuff I played was the later stuff like Total Annihilation etc. The early DOS stuff passed me by entirely or was available on the Amiga and suchlike.

I'm assuming that RG has already covered the Commander Keen games here btw. They're an obvious choice for coverage.
