How about a seperate forum for each console?
How about it? Or at least for each company. Like on for Sony PS one for Nintendo etc. ? And then under that, one for retro and one for non-retro.

Re: How about a seperate forum for each console?
why ?
that would just fragment the forum with some section getting a lot of posts while others are near dead

If anything the current boards could be compacted even further as there's still a lot of crossover. While the boards are well populated there's nowhere near enough traffic to require seperate sections for each major manufacturer.
The only addition that could be made would be a sales section. However considering the time that's passed since the last request went in it looks unlikley that will be happening either.
Re: How about a seperate forum for each console?
That's right - there would be some dead sections and as above what about when stuff was released on multiple platforms - I was playing Robocop vs Terminator last night for example, that came out on the multiple SEGA platforms as well as the SNES. I think it's fine the way it is although could so with a trading section for all the sales threads, sales feedback and MEGA RARE thread (LOL).
That said, I only "View New Posts" so I don't actually see any differentiation really - but have experienced dead sub forums before and it's a bit sad really.

Seperate forums for each console or company is abit overkill. A forum for current/next gen would be a good idea as would a sub forum in the off topic forum for selling/trading.

How about one section for retro, and another for modern?

Brilliant contribution there.gman72 wrote:NOMediaCult wrote:How about it? Or at least for each company. Like on for Sony PS one for Nintendo etc. ? And then under that, one for retro and one for non-retro.
As people have said, it wouldnt be necessary. Its not like this forum is crazy active and it would fragment it too much. Just think of how many consoles there are.

I just use View New posts as well, rather than go to a specific area. The multiple platforms /stuff released on...only way i could see that working is with things like:RVT/Dune/Terminator etc were platforms get different game to that on another system.RetroBob wrote:That's right - there would be some dead sections and as above what about when stuff was released on multiple platforms - I was playing Robocop vs Terminator last night for example, that came out on the multiple SEGA platforms as well as the SNES. I shall probable be the only poster in it.

The forum is nowhere near busy enough for this suggestion. All it would do is create splintered groups of folks sticking to particular sections and spreading the membership pretty thin when things are fine as they are.
