Why those in particular?

Super Tennis on SNES. As well as Tennis on the Wii and Virtua Tennis 3 on ps3.

I Hate Boxing games in general.

Final Match Tennis - TG16. Brilliant tennis game which blows everything else out of the water.

Super Punchout - Wii. Technically not a boxing game but since I don't play them this will have to do.

Legends has always been a fav because it go limited uk release so I only got to play it once at a shop until recently. When I saw it in the shop it was £65 major money at the time.

The ps1 game I only just started playing reminds me of international tennis open on the cdi except the controls are more functional, the serving leaves a lot to be desired but it certainly competes with the likes of v tennis etc..

Super tennis was good I forgot about that that one, I also remember jimmy Connors being good.

Frank Bruno's Boxing.

Its just Punch Out under another name, but it was my main boxing fix at the time (couldn't get to grips with the weird controls on the arcade cab).

From that, I took a liking to most Punch Out clones. Punch King is one of those rare GBA games that earned its place in my collection.

For tennis, can you beat the good old Grandstand Pong clones? Virtua Tennis comes close, but its not as accessible to non gamers. Anyone can play Pong.

Bearing this in mind, Wii Sports Tennis is possibly my favourite of recent years. No other tennis game has come close (with the Wii iteration of Virtua Tennis being a huge disappointment to me).

These for me too.

Plus, more recently than Frank Bruno's C64 outing, I really enjoyed Fight Night Round 3 on the 360 and long before Wii Sports Tennis wowed me it was plain old GameBoy Tennis with Mario as umpire that was, still is, a favourite.

Tennis - Jimmy Connor's on the SNES, alhough another shout for GB Tennis from me.

Boxing - well, would have to be Rocky Legends on the PS2 & Evander Holyfields on the Mega Drive.....nothing like beating up your best mate :)

Mario Power Tennis on the GBA is my personal choice for tennis.

Boxing - only ever played Frank Bruno's Boxing on the C16 (great game) and Boxing on Wii sports - not really a format that appeals to me all that much for some reason.

at the time Match Point on the speccy blew me away.....its not so good now....

Sega Superstars Tennis plays a decent game of tennis.....

Another vote for FNR3 on the 360 or even the very good ps2 version.......

Top spin on xbox, fight night series ( I know that's probably uncool to like an EA sports franchise, but I find it fun, but limited) on pretty much any system

Match Point on the C64 - played that for hours.

Had a boxing game on the Game Boy, whose name escapes me - that was quite good fun.

For me, Frank Bruno on the c64 seemed to be about luck, rather than skill - C&VG did a big piece on that when it came out.

Barry McGuigans Boxing on the spectrum is far and away my favourite boxing game .

Tennis would be either match point or davis cup tennis .
