NES

My all time most treasured piece of my collection – my original PAL carts of Megaman 1-5.

The German release of Megaman 2 which got different box art to the UK version. Personally I prefer this one.

The USA versions of Megaman 1-6

The Megaman 9 Press Kit. One of my all time personal favourites as they nailed the USA style boxart perfectly.

The fake cartridge of the press kit. It can be opened up to reveal a little CD which has promo material for MM9 like images etc.

My Playchoice 10 Cabinet with Megaman 3.

All 7 Famicom releases – Rockman 1-6 and Rockboard.
SNES

2 different PAL releases of Megaman X – The blue-ish one is the version we got in the UK while the black boxed one is the version that was released in Germany.

Euro versions of Megaman 7, Megaman X2 and Megaman X3.

USA versions of Megaman 7 and Megaman’s Soccer.

USA releases of Command Mission and Network Transmission along with the USA exclusive Megaman Anniversary Collection (Megaman 1-8 and both arcade games) and Megaman X Collection (MMX1-6 and Battle & Chase)
Megadrive

Different variants for Megaman the Wily Wars – 2 copies of the European release, the Japanese release “Rockman Mega World”, the USA reproduction, the Brazilian version and a Chinese knock off cart of WW.

A closer look at the American Reproduction. Wily Wars was never got a physical release in the USA but this repro looks practically spot on to how a USA release might have looked. The box art and manual look spot on plus the cartridge’s save system works properly so its possible to get to Wily Tower.

Another Asian pirate cart but this one is slightly more interesting. Even though Capcom never ported X3 to the Megadrive it seems that some hackers/pirates gave it a good try. The result is a buggy yet somewhat playable game that has 6 of the levels that was originally in X3. Apart from being incredibly buggy X himself is wildly overpowered making the pathetic boss fights even easier. Not a good game really but a cool little piece to add to my collection.
Saturn

The Euro release of Megaman X3 and the USA release of Megaman 8 & X4

The original and Satakore release of Rockman 8 as well as 2 slightly different versions of Super Adventure Rockman…

The back covers to both versions of Super Adventure Rockman for the Saturn. The layout of the screenshots is different but that’s pretty much the only different between the two. Both game’s play identically.

Rockman X3 and both the original and Satakore re-release of Rockman X4.

The Rockman X4 Special Limited Pack which comes with a copy of the game and a Rockman X4 Ultimate Armour model kit. The game itself is the same as the normal retail version bar the front of the manual and disc which has “Special Limited Pack” printed on them.

A closer look at the GBA SP Rockman EXE 4 Blue Moon bundle.

The bundle version of Rockman EXE 4.5 – this came with a battle chip gate and a few battle chips (which slot into the chip gate).

Both Guidebook versions of Rockman EXE 5 which came with the game and a nice guidebook packaged in a larger box.

A look at the inside of the Team Blue guidebook release.

The movie release of Rockman EXE 5. Apart from the nice new cover and a few bonus pack ins (such as the Bass card pictured) this is just a bog standard EXE 5: Team Colonel in disguise. It was available only in cinemas around the time when they were showing the Rockman EXE movie.

A look at the little Calendar included with the movie release of EXE 5.

A look at the Rockman EXE 6 DX releases. Each came with a copy of the game and a battlechip gate with battlechips (much like the deluxe version of EXE 4.5)

A closer look at the DX version of Rockman EXE 6: Team Falzar.

The Euro releases of Megaman X3, X4, X5 and X6.

Euro releases of Megaman Legends 1&2 and Misadventures of Tron Bonne.

All 3 different USA releases of Megaman 8. There is the Anniversary Collectors Edition which comes with a small Artbook, there’s the Anniversary Edition which has a slightly different manual and disc (it also does not come with the book) and the Greatest Hits release.

The original and greatest hits releases of Megaman X4.

The USA releases of Megaman X5 and X6.

A look at the slightly different manual backs and CD’s for the USA versions of Megaman 8 that were released.

The USA versions of Megaman Legends 1&2 and Misadventures of Tron Bonne.

The Complete Works releases of Rockman 1-6 on the Playstation. These were the NES versions with remixed soundtracks (1-3 only got partial remixed soundtracks), new difficulty levels, extensive enemy and boss databases and pocket station support (lets you level up Megaman and the bosses the make the game even easier/harder).
Thanks to the crystal clear visuals, remixed soundtracks and added difficulty these are hands down my favourite versions of the original NES games.

The Rockman Collection Box for the Playstation. This contains the PSOne Books versions of all 6 Complete Works releases as well as Rockman X7 and some Rockman badges.

The contents of the Collection Box.

The Complete Works Guide releases of Rockman 1 and 2 for the Playstation. Each book is a full colour walkthrough guide to the game and also comes packaged with the game itself.

The various releases of Rockman Dash 1&2 for the PSP. Each game got both an original and budget re-release version as well as a special “Double Pack” which is just the 2 games bundled together.
PC

Euro PC releases of Megaman X3, X4 and X8.

Megaman 1 and 3 for the PC. Easily 2 of the worst MM games ever created!

The Big Box USA releases of Megaman Legends, Megaman X (with free controller), Megaman X3 and Megaman X4 along with the small box release of Megaman X5. MM Legends for the PC was hands down one of the hardest pieces to track down!
Japan

The Big Box PC releases of Rockman X, X3, X4 and X5. X4 was a right nightmare to track down, compared to the others it very rarely ever comes up for auction anymore.

More different Japanese PC variants for: Rockman X, Rockman X4, Rockman X5 and Rockman X8.

Smaller CD case style budget re-releases of Rockman X, Rockman X3 (2 different versions) and Rockman X4.

The Big Box release of Rockman X5 in more detail.

The Big Box releases of Rockman Dash 1&2

The Big Box release of Rockman Dash 2 in more detail. Probably my favourite Japanese Big Box release not to mention probably the rarest as well.

CD Case Style Budget releases of Rockman Dash. The only difference between the 2 is the spines and spine cards – the left one is labelled as the “Great” release while the one on the right is labelled as the “Ultra” release. The Ultra release came later at a cheaper price point, otherwise they are identical.

Smaller DVD case style budget releases of Rockman Dash 1&2
Asia

Big Box Asian PC releases of Rockman X4, X6 and X8. Rockman X4 came with a bonus full colour guide book while X8 also came with a full colour guide book and a separate disc which has a full walkthrough video on it.

Little Box releases of Rockman X4, X5 and 2 different versions of Rockman X6

A closer look at the Asian release of Rockman X6. For whatever reason this never got released in Japan, America or Europe along with Rockman X7 which only saw a PC release in Korea. Poor old X2 never got an official PC release at all (though you can find a pirate PC release that is just the Snes ROM and an emulator)

Yet more Smaller Box releases of Asian PC games – this time its yet another packaging variant on Rockman X5 and the pirate “Rockman X9” which is actually just Rockman and Forte.

Asian Disc only releases of Rockman IQ Challenge and Rockman X3.

A few Asian Exclusive Rockman releases – different box variants of Rockman Strategy and Rockman IQ Challenge. Strategy is an SRPG with tons of Megaman characters and is actually pretty fun to play through while IQ Challenge is an odd mix of different (educational) puzzles

More Asian Exclusive PC releases – Rockman Dash: To Save the World, Rockman Dash 2 and Rockman Gold Empire. Dash TSTW is another educational puzzle based game like IQ Challenge while Gold Empire is like a weird mash up of Sim City and Monopoly!

A closer look at Rockman Dash 2. Out of all the Asian Big Box releases this is probably my favourite – mainly because of the wonderful box art and a full colour manual which has lots of nice artwork in it.

The “New Skill” re-releases of Rockman Dash: To Save the World, Rockman X Math Tornado (math based game with Megaman X characters) and Rockman IQ Challenge.

More smaller boxed Asian releases – Rockman Dash 1&2 and Rockman Collection (contrary to the boxart its actually the first 6 NES games on 1 disc)

A shot of the different Big Box Megaman Legends PC releases all together.

Korean releases of Megaman: The Power Battle, Megaman X3-X5 Triple pack and Megaman X4-X8. X7 is my favourite of the bunch as the PC version of it only ever saw the light of day and Korea for some reason.

Various PC Releases - Megaman X for the PC (this is the version that didn't come bundled with the 6 button pad), Megaman X3 (pirate release), Megaman 3 (stand alone CD release), Megaman Power Battle & Fighters Korean PC release and Megaman X1-X2 Korean PC release.

From left to right: Rockmen R, Mega Mari, Rosenkreuzstilette. Not sure the name of the last one!
Each is a Japanese fanmade/doujin games which basically play just like Megaman games.
Misc

All 3 Wonderswan Rockman games (Rockman & Forte, Rockman EXE and Rockman EXE N1 Gran Prix) along with the Game Gear version of Megaman.

Megaman 64 for both the Japanese and American N64’s

The Xbox release of Megaman Anniversary Collection along with Megaman Battle and Fighters for the Neo Geo Pocket Colour.

The Demo Cart version of Rockman Battle and Fighters for the NGPC. The cart only contains the first scenario of both games.

Brazilian releases of Megaman X4 and Megaman 6

The Playstation Rockman Dash Beta which was apparently incredibly limited and only available to Japanese Capcom/Megaman club members. Also pictured is the Megaman 9 Soundtrack, Megaman X8 review disc and the soundtrack to the 90’s Megaman Animated Series.

Various Chinese Pirate Gameboy/Colour/Advance carts of Megaman games. Most are multicarts that contain Rockman World 1-5 or Xtreme 1-2 on them but a couple do have “exclusive” games on them.
Rockman 99 is a weird pirate version of Megaman 8 for the Gameboy which is god awful – you fall through platforms, platforms don’t even appear sometimes etc. Play at your own risk!
Rockman DX2/DX3 has an odd Chinese homebrew game that plays an awful lot like the Megaman Xtreme games except it has all new levels, enemies and music. Its still pretty substandard though as collision detection sucks and the levels themselves are fairly boring.

Megaman 2 and 3 LCD Games by Tiger Electronics.

The Italian release of the Megaman 3 handheld (which came boxed as opposed to carded) along with a pack of Rockman 10 cookies (which have a wonderful Famicom style box art!)

The Street Fighter PC compilation disc which also contains Megaman 1&3. Also pictured is the Bandai Rockman X3 handheld which is sort of a cross between a personal organiser and touch screen handheld.

The PCB for Rockman: The Power Battle

The PCB for Rockman 2: The Power Fighters
Merchandise:

Japanese Model Kits of both Megaman and Tenguman.

The Silver version of the Megaman statue released in Japan just in time for his 15th Anniversary.

Candy Toys for Rockman 8 – Megaman, Protoman, Bass and Duo

An artcell from Captain N depicting their “version” of Megaman (complete with King Hippo’s boxing gloves)

Some of my most prized pieces in my collection – actual artcells used for the Rockman 7 manual. These depict the “get weapon” artwork when you defeat each of the 8 bosses.

The Megaman 10 Presskit which comes with a nice E Tank box, a T Shirt and an E Tank energy drink. Nowhere near as nice as the MM9 Presskit unfortunately.

A Japanese puzzle book for Megaman 6. Each new page has Megaman fighting against a different Robot Master…

A look inside the book, this page depicts the penultimate “stage” which has Megaman fighting a gauntlet of fortress bosses from MM6

The Plexiglass marquee for the Megaman the Power Battle Arcade Machine.

Figure giftsets of Rockman 5, Rockman 6 and Rockman X3. The RM5 and RM6 sets are two of my personal favourites due to them having nice fully painted models of the Robot Masters from each series.

Candy Toys of various Rockman and Rockman X series spanning from RM4-R&F and RMX1-X3 respectively.

Various Complete Works guidebooks for the “classic” Megaman series, Megaman X and Megaman Zero along with a Japanese Complete Works book which touches on all the series up to Rockman Zero 0- its not as in depth as the others are though.

Japanese Guide Books for Misadventures of Tron Bonne, Megaman Starforce 2, Megaman ZX & ZX Advent.

Various Megaman Battle Network figures I’ve amassed over the years.

More Battle Network Figures

The most recent Japanese Rockman Candy Toys – Pictured here are 2 slightly Different Megamen, Roll and Protoman.

More Candy Toys – this time the bad guys: 2 different versions of Bass as well as classic Robot Masters Cutman and Airman.

The last of the Candy Toys – The Megaman X/Zero crew: Zero (From the Megaman Zero game series), Megaman X, and Zero (from the MMX series)

Older Candy toys released to tie into Megaman X3 – these are the villains of the line:
Toxic Seahorse, Neon Tiger, Bit, Byte, Vial, Blast Hornet and Crush Crawfish

A few of the many different X’s and Zero’s released in the line.

Drillman and Brightman from the 90’s Megaman cartoon along with a more recent Shadowman figure.

The translated Manga’s so far – Megaman Megamix Volumes 1&2 and Megaman ZX Volumes 1&2.

A signed Gutsman print (from his voice actor Gary Chalk) along with a signed copy of Megaman Upon a Star (signed by Dr Wily's vocie actor Scott McNeil)

Various bits of Megaman merchandise including: Stickers, flyers, collectable cards, a TvC calendar and best of all a signed Megaman sketch from series creator Keiji Inafune

All 3 Megaman model kits - Protoman, Megaman and Roll.

Korean Snes releases of Megaman X (cart only unfortunately) and Megaman X3

The latest comics - Archie's Megaman issue 1, Megaman Battle Network Complete Works and Megaman Megamix Volume 3.
A really unique piece in my Megaman Collection that is right up there with my Megaman 7 art cels in terms of rarity: The actual Design Board for the USA Megaman X3 box art.

The laser printed sheet of the finished box art (unfolded)

The tracing paper overlay which includes all kinds of design details and notes on the box art

And some black and white overlays which display the basic frame boxes and logo's positions
Needless to say I'm really happy with this, its an awesome and unique addition to my collection!

2 more different repro's for my Collection - another different Wily Wars and Megaman X3 both for the Megadrive.

Something else I've been after for ages is this figure box set which contains all 20 of the candy toys released for Rockman 4. This goes nicely with the Rockman 5 and 6 sets I have.

Various Megaman X Jazware figures/models I've picked up - 10 inch figures of Megaman X and Zero along with two Megaman X5 model kits (thanks to GigaPepsiMan for selling me these

Pictures of the Supervision versions of Megaman 2, Rockman 2 and Rockman 3 that I picked up yesterday:

Rockman 2

Rockman 3

And Megaman 2. Unlike the other 2 games this one comes on a NES cart not a Famicom cart.

Different pirate carts for the Famicom and Megadrive. The cart in the top left hand corner is a multi cart that has all 6 Rockman games on it (though is sadly missing Rockboard). The game in the middle (in the case) is actually a completely different game - an RPG which has been hacked to replace the main character with a sprite that is a mix of Megaman and Zero. The title screen has also been hacked and replaced with the original Rockman title screen.

Yet another variant to add to my Megaman PC collection - a different boxed version of Rockman X8 from China.

And my favourite new arrivals - a set of 8 pin badges from Rockman 8. These are some of my favourite pieces of Rockman related merchandise.
Pictures of my new arrivals courtesy of undamned

The French release of the Tiger Megaman 2 handheld, Rockman the Power Battle art and manual to go with my PCB, Megaman X6 (Australian release), Tunder Blaster Man, Rockman EXE chara wrist band and Rockman 2 for the Famicom Disc System (no idea if that is whats actually on the disc though, I really need a FDS)

The PAL B version of Megaman along with the PAL A version. Bar the little "A" and "B" in the bottom corner of each box there doesn't seem to be any difference between the two.

Thanks to Undamned for the heads up on this one. The NES-MN USA version of Megaman which (as he pointed out on a previous page) has a slightly different Nintendo seal of approval logo on both the box and cartridge, slightly richer colours on the box and the inner tab on the box has "NES-MN USA" instead of NES-MN USA-1 written on it.

The PAL A and PAL B versions of Megaman 2. The main difference is the "Capcom" logo on the boxes which on the PAL A version is just red while the PAL B version has a yellow logo with blue trim which is almost identical to their current logo design.

A side on look on both Megaman 2 box spines. Again the only difference is the Capcom logo being present on the PAL B version.

Again, same deal with the manuals except the PAL B version came with 2 manuals (one English and one Portuguese)

Megaman 3 (Both PAL A). The one of the left is my old UK copy, the one on the right is the "Mattel" version which I think is the Australian version (as eBay Australia was the only place where I could find several Mattel MM3's for sale). The only difference is the fact that the "Mattel" version has... well Mattel's logo all over the box and cartridge otherwise its identical.

The box tops of both MM3's. The top of the Mattel version substitutes the games title for misc text and a big Mattel logo.

Lastly is 2 USA versions of Megaman X. The differences between the two seem to be that the cover for each is in a slightly different shade (the one on the right has a slight purple tint). The manuals are obviously different - one is in full colour and the other is just black and white. Lastly some small print on the box and cart is slightly different - on the left it says "made in Japan" while the one on the right says "assembled in Mexico".

All my Korean PC releases in their awesome little embossed covers. Megaman X5 is the newest arrival and accompanies the other 7 X games and both arcade games.

A couple more bits of Megaman merchandise - A Japanese plug in TV games that is based off the Megaman Starforce series. Its pretty basic stuff and has a primitive motion control gimic. The figure is the special San Diego Comic Con exclusive version of Megaman X.

More Megaman merch - the Rockman X2 LCD Game/Calculator hybrid and a small pack of Japanese Megaman figures based on Megaman 7.

Special thanks to twoheadedboy for the heads up on these - A load more of the little Megaman candy figures including some of the rarer ones (like the awesome MM5 Wily Skull Walker and the Bit/Byte combo monster)

A few more candy toys including a few X bosses such as Tunnel Rhino, Spark Mandrill, Neon Tiger and the Megaman 7 Robot Museum mid boss)
One last item. This is a box art transparency for the sadly unreleased physical USA version of Wily Wars on the Megadrive. Apparantly this would have been the boxart that would have been used. Its a really nice little addition to my collection that sits alongside the cool art cels from Megaman 7.
