RETRO FOR THE PS3
Between awesome new games, what's good retro-wise on the PS3? (not Download though, as I cant get online with consoles)
The only compilation I can see is the Megadrive - which I have on other formats.
Ico/Shadow re-release looks cool, even if it isnt strictly retro.
Anything else on disc I've missed?

Re: RETRO FOR THE PS3
I can't think of any others for the PS3 off the top of my head but if you have a PS2 compatible model there's a few on there:
sonic mega collection
midway arcade treasures series (I'm pretty sure the first of these was available on the PS1 too
capcom classic collections
taito legends series
mega man anniversary collection

God of war, Sly Cooper HD collections. Splinter Cell, Mortal Kombat and Prince Of Persia HD collections coming.Shame you cannot get online, as have a feeling that's were most of the Retro is going to appear.Good as the MD collection was...Hellva lot of space left on the Blu-ray disc that went unused.

Re: RETRO FOR THE PS3
I agree, if you got on-line I could give you a big list of my favorate retro and retro-style games (can you say 'pixel junk
)
If your PS3 is one capable of reading PS2 games I'd add the atari anthology, and intelivision lives anyhology, james pond robocod, r-type final and metal slug games to the list.

Re: RETRO FOR THE PS3
Any PS3 should be able to play Robocod, it was released for the PS1, not PS2. New PS3s can still play PS1 stuff.GarryG wrote:If your PS3 is one capable of reading PS2 games I'd add the atari anthology, and intelivision lives anyhology, james pond robocod, r-type final and metal slug games to the list.

It was surprisingly released for both! Unfortunately, the PS2 version is an absolute shambles.ToxieDogg wrote: Any PS3 should be able to play Robocod, it was released for the PS1, not PS2.

Ah, OK, didn't know about that, I stand corrected.Tepid Snake wrote:It was surprisingly released for both! Unfortunately, the PS2 version is an absolute shambles.ToxieDogg wrote: Any PS3 should be able to play Robocod, it was released for the PS1, not PS2.

I've got the PS1 version, works fine on my old PS2 and PS3....not really sure why a PS2 version came out. And by the looks of things, it isn't worth bothering with either.

Re: RETRO FOR THE PS3
thanks for the feedback chaps.
sounds generally like I'll only be using the PS3 for damn newfangled games....

Re: RETRO FOR THE PS3
All PS1 games will work with any PS3. Where's my Breath Of Fire III at?

Re: RETRO FOR THE PS3
PS1 games don't work on mine!?
Never have, as far as I can remember...
CDs play ok, so I don't think it's the laser (CD and PS1 use the same one right?)
It plays PS2 disks fine though!

Re: RETRO FOR THE PS3
You could just be unlucky and only have games that aren't compatible. I only have Deathtrap Dungeon that doesn't work right but I'm sure there are others around.GarryG wrote:PS1 games don't work on mine!?
