Well, I passed it off as naff due to average reviews and poor sales so I'm glad you've spoken up about it. :)

Have learned that sadly the PAL 360 version is region locked so I'll just have to buy it on the PS3 instead.

I experienced something with Nier that the reviews didn't really pick upon and I think its worth people having a closer look, thats all.

If I had to criticise the game, I would say it does take a little too long in hitting its stride which is why I understand the reason why people give up on it prematurely. With it being that sort of game which requires certain trains of thought, anyone aspiring to play the game will hopefully get more enjoyment from it being pre-armed with at least some idea of what to expect.

Hmm, I think that was the problem I had with Castlevania. But I paid £40 for that in a shop so I cashed in asap to avoid depreciation..

A tenner new for Nier is good enough for a slow start then.

Heard that is meant to be pretty fun, I will pick it up one day. I like the idea of a scrolling fighter and I like the MK universe.

I did state.. its an acquired taste so its not going to suit everyone. I am aware that there are people whom aren't going to like it. I just prefer to offer reasoned context opposed to this game is simply good or bad, but I do have the odd tendency to forget myself on occassion . Don't worry that was my last essay...

Reasoned context I get. A fanboy-esque diatribe about the nuances of a game that's averagely rated, is a bit OTT. Hence my original post.

Nier's great we get it, Stop with the essays on it already

I haven't played it and after reading the amount of spurious nonsense I dont intend to. Some times I can be wordy but holy mother of god that takes the biscuit.

It's a video game not a new way of life. Just because its a grinding Action RPG from Square/Cavia (like they have never done that before) doesnt make it the best thing since sliced bread.

In short change the record. We get that you like it, we get that you will defend it to the death Accept that others dont like it and move on
damn it you stole my lines
im going to talk to the director ;)
hey wait ! i got a new complaint !

It's really good, probably my favourite MK game after MKII! A lot of people think it's mediocre, but I really enjoy it.

The last thing I want to do is come across as a fanboy; that mentality drives me nuts. But, I guess it can prove a little difficult to avoid appearing that way at times when a game relies so heavily on personal interpretation.

Point taken :D

Lost Planet 2 - if you ignore the "let's pretend we're playing online" aspect of the single player campaign, it's a decent shooter with good controls and fantastic graphics. It's definitely a case of going in with your expectations lowered first though (one level isn't really any different to another). While not a must have, it's certainly not as bad as certain mags made out.
