1 game to take with you forever

Post by retrojc » Wed Dec 08, 2010 8:04 pm

I'm a fallout 3 fan, a huge Fallout 3 fan and that in itself got me thinking...

if you got selected to be saved from an apoclaypse, and you can take 1 console and 1 game only with you, what would it be? remember you're going to be underground for a very long time - so choose wisely. but you can take as many perihperals as you realisticly need. remember you're going to be undergroudn for ateast 10 years.

Also, there is no interent in these bunkers so no world of gaycraft

I'll answer first with the game i would take, and why.

Though for the most part, say 30 hours or so a long game can provide would be great it would by no means keep you occupied for 10 years or so years, as a social person I feel i'd be choosing well by picking Saturn Bomberman, 10 player carnage, though Fallout 3 was a tight second due to all the dlc, and thinsg to find.

so, what about you?

P.s sorry fi this has been done before

^But if you were the sole survivor, wouldn't ten-player Saturn Bomberman get a bit old playing against bots?

Myself, I'd probably get the best console chess game I could find, 'cos I'm pretty cack at chess, lack patience with it and need to put more effort in because I can see it's bloody great (when the effort's put in!)

Probally something like worms 3D - it's infinatly playable to a degree as it is partically randomly generated.

The Baldurs Gate series. It's effectively one huge game so the whole lot with expansions counts

I've lost so many hours of my life to that series even managing a 200 hour play through 2 years back just for BG2.

Would have to be Football Manager 2011 (Or whatever the current iteration was by the time of Apocalyptic war).

The game can run forever...or until your PC runs out of resources. So many teams and different leagues to manage in....top stuff!

Front Mission 1st on ps1 or DS import- the original Snes classic in it's entirety plus a new full length campaign done with the same engine. Glorious.

Well, as long as you don't shoot the thing in frustration

For me I would probably take Civilization IV with the Beyond the Sword expansion. Civ is infinitely replayable, even against the CPU. And it'll help pass the time between eating my own shoes and talking to my pet radroach.

Jet Set Radio Future, everything about that game is perfect :) I could play it through again and again without ever getting bored.

Tough choice man.... I would take a Master System with Alex Kidd. Purely as it's my first game/console. Hazy days. I have played and completed it every time i get something new to play it on.

Oblivion, without a doubt.

While I'm currently playing through Fallout 3 (currently Lv24 with all 5 Exp Packs installed) Oblivion was conceptually the better game, and more fun because of it.
Both are absolutely stonking titles though. I'd not be upset to have either. 8)
