What classic is next on your list?

Post by theantmeister » Mon Nov 08, 2010 1:50 pm

I know we have a "what are you playing now" thread, but I thought I would start one on the next classic game you're planning to play.

If you're anything like me, you'll have a massive backlog of stonking classics that just gather dust that you eye as you start playing something else. They sit there, taunting you with their awesomeness and you promise yourself that you will get to them "soon".

Honestly, for me it's getting to be like that episode of the Twilight Zone (or "The scary door" ) where that guy gets locked in a library with every book ever written, but then his reading glasses break. That's what my Steam collection is like. I literally fall to my knees and wail whenever I select "View, All games".

So, anyway, what's next on your list?

[edit] P.S. - If you post it here, you have to stick to it! Think of it as a sort of AA in reverse.

For me, I absolutely will play and finish Beyond good and evil. I played this on the Gamecube years ago and I was instantly hooked. Unfortunately, after playing it for four hours solid the first time I loaded it up, I never did come back to it. I kept it for months, until my friend wanted it back.

So Beyond good and evil it is. I'll be back in a year or so to tell you what I thought it it.

Never played Beyond Good and Evil, but always tempted to hunt it down and have a bash.....is it worth it?

I've got a few to choose from:

A Link to the Past
Chrono Trigger
Chibi Robo
Okami
and Mario Galaxy 2 (if that quaifies as a classic already)
Pratty's trade list, updated (May 2019)!

Just bought the GTA series on Steam (£4.99!)

Never played the first 2 (I was still hanging on to my miggy whilst my mates where slavering over their PS1s!)

Think I'll give em a whirl!

What difference does buying them via Steam have?
They're still available to download for free anyway.

Good idea but I'm not sure how much longer SMG2 can wait, I've had it on hold since launch, it's probably gonna be my Christmas Day treat if I don't get any games for presents.

Next on my list to buy is Pitfall 2 for the 2600. Unfortunately, I’ve had a tough time looking for it! Can’t find it anywhere for this platform. There are a few Spectrum versions knocking about on e-bay though.
And this bird you'll never change...
