Can't think of any more I would call favourites.

Top 5 in terms of most fun I've had playing -

1 - Streetfighter 2 SNES / Arcade
2 - Streetfighter Zero 1 - Playstation / Saturn
3 - Streetfighter Zero 2 - Saturn
4 - Streetfighter Zero 3 - Saturn / Dreamcast
5 - Marvel vs Streetfighter - Saturn

I like a lot of the others but they are the most fun I've had and the ones me and my friends played to death. Eventually SSFIV might be in there but it hasn't caught up yet!

1) Soul Calibur 2 - Gamecube
2) IK+ (one on one on one?) - Amiga
3) Way of the Exploding Fist - Spectrum
4) Tekken 3 - Arcade
5) Mortal Kombat 2 - Arcade

Honourable mentions must go to Primal Rage, Bushido Blade, Fighters Destiny, and Karate Champ, though. Very tough choice for that last place.

Hard for me to pick just 5 as my favourites keep changing all the time but from the top of my head these would be my picks:

Super Street Fighter 4 - Currently my favourite SF game, it was between this, Alpha 3 and 3rd Strike and as I'm playing this one the most at the mo I picked this one.

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 - While its far from perfect (character balancing) its still awesome to have such a huge line up of characters from both sides. I'll probably be favoring MvC3 next year though.

King of Fighters 98 UM - '98 has always been my favourite SNK fighter and as UM adds a whole load more characters to the mix its become my preferred version.

Virtua Fighter 5 - I still find it a bit complicated at times but overall I love the wealth of moves and combo's that Sega's fighter offers.

Guilty Gear X2 # Reload - It was between this and Blazblue but I still overall prefer the characters from Guilty Gear (well, mainly Faust and Slayer). The combo system can be pretty complex at times but is still pretty playable well learning it, the characters as a whole are pretty diverse (again - Faust and Slayer) plus I personally love the heavy rock style soundtrack.

Oooh, I'm all about about the 2D fighters so in no particular order;

Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting
Capcom vs SNK 2
Marvel Super Heroes (The best marvel game IMHO)
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Street Fighter Ex plus Alpha (2.5D)

Honourable mentions go to;
Darkstalkers (which graphically p1ssed over every 2D fighter at the time & brought some new mechanics to the table)
Super Street Fighter 2 X - Love watching pro matches on YouTube
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike - Ditto the above. (Thanks go to The Shend) :)
Oh and if you want to do little social experiments on our forum don't post about them on your own you plum - Darren@Retro Gamer

WOTEF
Yie Ar Kung Fu

This thread really reminds me why none of my favourite fighting games are straight one-on-one jobs.
