Isn't the SD card slot just a blatant message for buyers to download illegal roms? Can't imagine Sega liking that and yet they licensed it :?:

Mind you, for £40, it's a tad expensive. Might as well put another tenner to it, and buy a second hand DS.

Hopefully they have improved the screen from the one`s used for their early machines.

D-Pad was awful on the original Blaze MD Handheld also!

Was never really interested in one of these before, but a SD card slot you say? Now your talking!! I don't think £40 a bad price to be honest, if you really can play 'your own Roms' it seems like a bargain to me.

It does look nice. I've got an MD emulator on my PSP though.

But if I don't buy it, a year I'll regret and will start looking around ebay no doubt...

Does anyone know what the SD slot function is for? Has anyone actually held one??

The video review of the Gopher make it look pretty good.
SD support seems pretty good. Picture on TV looks good too.
No mention of how good the D-Pad and buttons are though.

I've seen one today at the MediaMarkt store. They've released a arcade-stick with the same features as well (20 same games & SD-card funtionality).
It looks good (see: http://hyperkin.com/index.php/retro-gam ... -play.html), overhere, in Belgium it goes € 50, a bit expensive... Still in doubt though :?

That'd be awesome just for the stick.

Yeah, some of the ports weren't that good... But one has to admit: Mega Drive was the ultimate 'home-arcade' experience...

What I don't understand, though, is that they release it without HD-functionality, and ask € 50 for it. Within here and a couple of years no-one will be without a HD-tv; and I don't think the visuals stand out in HD-tv (a bit like connecting your C64 to a HD-tv). Strange!

Because the Mega Drive is not HD.
Ill admit that I am really tempted to get one (that lets you put ROMs on it)
