Does anyone know if Atari paddles work on a C64 or Amstrad CPC?

One would assume so .... they have the same connector & they abide by the Atari standard (just like the C64 & CPC do) so you could always try it and see what the outcome is. I'd imagine a paddle would be great for Arkanoid :D

I think you'd need games support on this one for an analogue controller.

Would it not function as a digital controller in some sort of way - I'm not expecting it to be very accurate but I'm sure you'd get some sort of output from it!

Yep they work fine as I use a set for paddle games on the C64.

Great, I just picked up some in an online auction for my Atari 2600, but I also have a few C64 paddle games so I was hoping they'd work with them too.

They do work. I used to swear by my Atari Paddles when playing Arkanoid on the C64. Does anyone know of any cheap USB paddles for playing the game on MAME?

I used to use Atari paddles with my C64 to play Arkanoid and also a cartridge game called Clowns, which was paddles only I am sure. Still got the game clowns.
