spine cards

Post by Fred83 » Sun Sep 26, 2010 9:58 am

A lot of jap releases come with the spine cards. So the ones without it usually go a little bit cheaper. Are you fussed by it or just want the game, cast your votes now!.

Its a 'nice to have' if its not much more cost wise... if there's a big difference in price then im happy with no spine card... :)

As long as a game is complete with manual and box etc I don't care for the spine card.

What the hell is that stupid piece of card for anyway? I've thrown them away before if there is nowhere in the box to hid them.

If I'm out to buy a JP Saturn or PS game it MUST have the spine card. Even if it costs me £30 more.

I think its for barcode reasons,if you have the spine the cost of selling it can be afforded to rise.

I used to be quite a stickler for spine cards, then I bloody well grew up.

Spending what is sometimes a considerably large amount of extra money on a thin piece of card, which without fail I immediately tuck inside the manual never ever to be seen again by myself or anyone else, is the most utterly retarded waste of money imaginable.

I could probably buy a copy of Eyeful Home or Daytona USA NetLink Edition (each around $1000) with the cash I would have saved not bothering with spine cards from the start.

Aside from anything else there are a few folks producing virtually perfect reproductions of them, get you're collection as complete as you want it first, then worry about things like spine and reg cards when you have nothing else left to throw away your hard earned cash on.

I just shove them inside the manual.

Personally, I don't see why they exist but I also haven't noticed a giant price difference between Jap games that have them and those that don't. If there's only a few quid in it then I'll just get the copy that DOES include the card, just for the hell of it. Besides, if I ever need to sell the games on again then I'm sure I'll get that little bit extra for them. Hopefully that never needs to happen but hey, you just can't know.

Didn't PAL Mega CD games have them too? The sealed Lawnmower Man I have has one...

The spine card means nothing to me. If the game has it then fair enough, but it's not like it's important in any shape or form.

I've never really cared for the spine cards. Nice to have but I wouldn't go out of my way to get them, not even for the Playstation/Saturn games in my Rockman collection.

I like to get spine cards, or obi strips as they're often called, and I'm happy to pay a few quid more for them.

I don't care about them, I have some games with them and some games without them. I know some people find these things important, but I dont.

I collect PCE games and sellers always mention if the game has the spine. As long as the game is near mint then I don't care. I'm not OCD about these things

Spine card, otherwise it doesn't feel complete.

Just glad I don't collect many Jap games !
