I've got IK+ for the GBA so how common is that game?

Thanks for the info. I hadn't seen it around before I think it was overshadowed by the International Karate advanced.

Cheers!

Not quite. You're probably mixing it up with International Karate Advanced. IK+ is a different game and quite hard to find, definitely worth a bit more than 5 quid.

Cheers hydrox. I had a feeling it was worth a bit more. It doesn't come up very often on Ebay as International Karate Advanced.

Ah, I thought they were the same game, just different packaging, I have one which says IK+ and has nothing else on the front of the box (no picture). Whats International Karate advanced like if its a different game?

Time to give this thread a bit of a bump.

Anyone here have any experience of modding the original GBA consoles?
I quite fancy having a bash at making one of my spare Arctic White consoles look a bit like one of the Ding DMG's available for $160 !!! on RoseColoured Gaming website in the US.

Question is... what sort of paint to use on the buttons and D-pad?
Model paint via some sort of air-powered spray gun?
That sound about right?

Ugh, I hate those sites. Complete rip offs.

I bought a Nonfinite modded DMG many years ago and the work was shoddy and the donor machine was a piece of trash.

For the buttons & D-pad, if you want to paint them then you'll need to get something to "finish" the colour to prevent it rubbing off on your hands over time, but it may simply be better to get them reproduced in the colours you're wanting.

Sadly it's been many years since I dealt with models & paint, so I really can't recommend anything - if I ever knew of a good permanent seal, then I've long forgotten what it was.

Just bought a GBA micro and starting looking at grabbing some more GBA stuff, but most of the ebay stuff is super fake so I can barely trust it unless its boxed (and therefore expensive). Any tips?

I still find the odd GBA bargain at car boot sales. Always check boxes of PS2 or Xbox games as the GBA was around at the same time and you sometimes find GBA gems knocking about under the other stuff.

I would say look up images of cart labels that are the real deal and use it as your guide. For extra peace of mind, look inside the cart from the bottom and look for the Nintendo logo on the board.

I would suggest getting a flash cart and using that, or just not worry about fakes if the price is right.

I'm fairly confident my Drilldozer cart is fake, but that hasn't stopped me knocking a good few hours out of a great game.

Issue with fakes is that they dont save, and a lot of time its hard to tell via ebay until they arrive, which is just a ballache. Never had issues with refunds from fakes (as they people know they are doing it and dont want to get reported) but its just a giant waste of time.
