for some strange reason i have the game in both ps 1 and ps 2 versions
and other then the graphics they are mostly the same
anyway nice game
passed under the radar etc
whiel playing it i noticed a little option under le mans mode
namely the time you can set it to race 10 min 20 min
the full 24 hours

and i was wondering has any body actually done that ?
i played with the idea

No chance! :D

I have it for Dreamcast and it's a great game.
Still looks really good, even now.

I've been playing the PS1 version on and off for over a year now - I've done seventeen hours now, the sun has just risen and I'm about eighteen miles ahead of the second placed car :)

Love the concept of 24 hour racing on a console, but the Playstation version is a bit wishy-washy to be honest - didn't know there was a PS2 version, might have to have a look at that.

The PS1 and PS2/DC games are very different as the have different developers. The PS1 game is really rather good with some really nice handling and exciting racers. The PS2/DC game is a very good title with the DC being the better version. Used to love the lighting and brake discs glowing in the sunset. 8)

Unless you unlock something REALLY good for completing it, the '24 hour' mode is just a waste of time and electricity isn't it?

And imagine getting towards the end of it all and then messing up and ending up in second or third place....

Nice idea, but can't see me ever bothering with something like that.
Sig pic temporarily removed...The Magnificent 7 will ride again 8)

You can save throughout the race though.

That would be the thing putting me off most - racing it all then like Toxie said, crashing out or making a race wrecking mistake at the end

You save in the pits so it's not entirely lost on a foul-up.

One of the Dreamcast mags did the 24 hour mode in one of the mag staff's flat, seat, wheel and pedals and with a crash helmet on for added realism, manual gearbox. Finished last but one IIRC. I remember one part of the article explaining how, in order to alleviate the boredom, one staff member was reduced to flipping between 6th and 7th gear on the Mulsanne to start sounding out morse code messages and the rhythm to songs!

Absolutely loved this on the DC and I think I've got the PS2 version as well.
