I've got the Gameboy player but what's the CD?

I've been playing quite a lot of NHL 06. Great game. Playing it through my modded wii off the hard drive.

It's the software needed to get the player working. Without it it's just a doorstop.

Haha, I should see if it works then. I do have a half decent GBA collection so i'll give it a whirl. I've had it since release so at sometime in the past the cd was obviously used. Lost some of my GC stuff on my various house moves over the years though.

Although my dad told me that I've got stuff in his loft - god knows what, i'll have to take a look one day.

So is there loads of quality US and JP Gamecube titles which didn't get a European release?

I'm thinking racing or hack n slash types.

You can find a full list of US releases here (because it's my collection prior to selling post Xmas!): http://www.mayhem64.co.uk/misc/gamecubeus.htm

Not loads of quality that I know of, there are a few good games that didn't make it over like I-Ninja and I think Alien Hominid off the top of my head.

Obviously there are the Nascar games for racers, I believe Nascar 2005 Chase For the Cup is good if Nascar's your kind of thing.

There's a quite a few other US only racing games but none that I know of that would be called quality

Cool, I ordered the us version of nascar 05 last week.

I already have US Auto Modellista and MLB 06.

Freeloader rocks.

Nascar 2005 came today, but won't boot with the freeloader cd.

My NTSC Baseball and Auto Modellista games work just fine but not Nascar.

I thought Freeloader was 100% compatible. Meh.

Are you getting it to auto detect, or using the manual region option? Sometimes games need the latter.

Yep! Alternative Loading Option 1 did the trick.

GC has to be on first before loading Freeloader cd, as opposed to booting the machine from the Freeloader.

Its Nascar day today :)

Cheers mate!

Got another bundle of Gamecube games today. Among them was King Arthur which I bought on a whim seeing as it was cheap and I'd never heard of it.

Well what a game! It's a hack-fest and a half. Some on horseback too, a la Dynasty Wars.

Just treated myself to an early xmas pressie.

Ikaruga on Gamecube. After years of playing the DC CDR, I hope it's at least as good..

I've seen grumbles about the GC version, but I'm not good enough to have noticed any difference.

I also treated myself to an AV to HDMI upscaler. I hope it works.

Just cool that my brother has a Gamecube with 26 games. He was given the console for free a few years ago and has just added a few games to it...

One of the games is Mario Kart double dash, 2 others are metroid games...
