They had this in CEX cheap but I just ignored it thinking it was a Shovel-ware game, will be paying them a visit tomorrow.. The other higher priced cube games they had where Hello Kitty, Teen Titans, Mario Baseball and Lego Star Wars.. Most of the Cube games like Need for Speed and Starky and Hutch they where selling for £1nokgod wrote:well, i saw Gadget Racers on PS2 for 50p the other day. You need to pick up Teen Titans if it was a PAL copy. That is genuinely one of the rarest games to find. I think it only got released in France (and possibly Germany). It can fetch silly money with collectors. If its American its worth bugger all

Re: Gamecube - your favourite title and collecting
I'm certain
its the American version
think the only bargains I had where mint PS1 Tales of Legia and Pal Dreamcast Canon Spike

Re: Gamecube - your favourite title and collecting
Well you should still pick up Gadget Racers if it was cheap. Its not a bad little racer tbh. Not worth £50, mind!! I've spent more time on that, than i thought i ever would. Shrek Smash 'n Crash Racing is another one that exceeded expectations. Mind you, you won't find that about either, as its another German/French exclusive.

Just read the gamecube article from the link, great stuff and a really good read. Although they make a few mistakes it seems nintendo do know what they are doing even if doesn't always work out.

Got R:Racing this morning (quick delivery from Amazon).

I thought it was very interesting and gave a lot of insight into Nintendo's thinking. In their criticism of Nintedno (and other companies) people often put decissions down to sheer stupidity and thoughtlessness, but in fairness it seems Nintendo had specific reasons for the decissions they took. Not everything worked out as they hoped but at least there always seemed to be a method to the madness.Fightersmegamix wrote:Just read the gamecube article from the link, great stuff and a really good read. I read criticism on Nintendo's smaller disks and their suggestion to developers that they don't have to make long, large and realistic looking games, taken as though Nintendo were suggesting developers made simplistic dumbed down games. On the contrary Nintendo actually said deleopoers can make whatever games they want and they'd accomodate those games on 2 disks.
So Nintendo didn't limit devlopers at all. Nor did Nintendo's smaller disks lead to inferior games. While third party games like Resident Evil, MGS: Twin Snakes and Enter The Matrix came on 2 discs, games like Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, Windwaker and Twilight Princess came one just one, showing that you can still make quality games on just one disc.

Most people only seemed to buy R:R for the Pacman Vs disc. Personally, i think its one of the best racers on the 'cube.rossi46 wrote:Got R:Racing this morning (quick delivery from Amazon).

A lot of people seem to like R:Racing. I have tried several times to like it. I just can't but tempted again!

R: Racing is a game I was after on the Cube. Seems to be £10+ in most cases though. If anyone is selling hit me up..

Re: Gamecube - your favourite title and collecting
Was playing Rogue Leader last night, what a game. Still can't really tell what's going on in the space battles, but man they're exciting! And I love taking down the At-Ats on Hoth.
My list -
Star Wars Rogue Leader
Mario Kart
MARIO Sunshine
Luigi's Mansion
Wind Waker
Freedom Fighters
NHL 06
Timesplitters (not sure which one)
XIII
Simpsons road rage
Viewtiful Joe
Eternal darkness (though I've lost it...)
F ZERO
Resident Evil 0
Resident Evil Remake
Resident Evil 4
Metroid
Metroid 2
Smash Brothers
COD (forget which one - the one in russia)
MOH Frontline (I think)
Pretty happy it'll stay at that now. I'd like Killer 7 but i'm not paying over £10 for anything anymore. Maybe Soul Caliber too. Actually, might just check ebay.......

Yeah it was an interesting article. Did it cost companies more money to get their games put on the smaller discs, as they weren't a standard size? I just thought that was nintendo being stubborn - why wouldn't you use an industry standard?

Mini DVDS are a standard size, you may notice most DVD drives have a small indent to take them. I bought a batch of miniDVDRs for my Cube and have been able to ru games burnt to them.greenberet79 wrote:Yeah it was an interesting article. I think the samller discs were also a halfway compromise between the extra storage space of disks and the shorter loading times of cartridges.Antiriad2097 wrote:Mini DVDS are a standard size, you may notice most DVD drives have a small indent to take them.
