Couple of weeks since the last review:

It's a classic for sure but playing it for the gameplay footage and I realised just how damn difficult it was!

Very pleased to announce that we managed to get Philiip Oliver

Re: NES-Bit.com for NES Collectors - Philip Oliver Interview
With Replay coming up and having a bit of spare time I decided to sit down and power through some of the general site updates.
Last week I drove down South (5 hours in a car!) to visit the storage place for Retro-Play who recently purchased a massive collection of games, consoles etc for numerous systems. He's going to be selling the lot on his store so well worth a look:
http://www.retro-play.co.uk/
The place was like a gold mine! Pristine boxes, stuff that looked as if it was straight off the store shelf. I couldn't believe some of the stuff I was seeing and I was only there for NES pictures! Mega Drive, Master System, Amstrad, Nintendo 64, SNES etc etc. I spent a good 8 hours with camera in hand snapping away with a haul of over 400 images by the end followed by another 6 hour trip back (bloody M1 traffic
).
Taking a day to recover
I then started sorting through the photo's with the plan to update the database over a couple of weeks. As well as upload each photo to the appropriate section I needed to copy the blurb off the back of the boxes (the game descriptions basically) which was a HUGE job. I started on Sunday but finished come Wednesday lunchtime with around 150 finished. I can't tell you how amazing it was to complete so many sections of the website in one go like that, it was a massive boost and I'm forever greatful to Retro-Play for the opportunity.
With this complete I think the OCD was starting to kick in (self diagnosed now
) and I started to think how plain some of the pages looked without much colour. So I spent a couple of days playing every NES game on the list, taking snapshots for each page, the result is every entry having screenshots of the games:
http://www.nes-bit.com/?p=575
http://www.nes-bit.com/?p=687
And this is one completed entry, so many of which are now fully complete
:

Might not seem like much to do, but when you have 250 games to get through snapping 3 shots a time it's very time consuming! I have approx 50 games to upload now which I'll do on Monday as I'm off to Replay and need a break from it all
I've been putting in 9am to 9pm days, updating all week now .
My next plan is to film game play footage for every title on the site (again another 250 odd vids) at 3 minutes ish per cart. I think that's about 4 hours footage all told but will complete such a big part of the database. There's always stuff to do and I haven't even added the new pages for the accessories and consoles I now have, but I'll get to it very, very soon. Not to mention all the reviews that need to be done to fill each of the game entries, as always welcome any volunteers for that!
Now I'm off to get ready for Replay, for those still interested in the printed copy of the site magazine then pop round to the Pix n Love stall as it'll be available for £3.50, with the free 3D glasses
I'm still determined to turn this site into THE best NES resource there is. I'm even looking at scanning game manuals to offer as downloads, another huge job but I'll do it

Been ages since I posted in here
Nothing major to report this week just a couple of issues of Total being added to the magazine section. These are like gold dust to track down and thanks to Filecore we have an ever growing collection:
http://www.nes-bit.com/?page_id=5017
You won't find these anywhere else as I scanned them all

With the upcoming issue 2 and issue 1 having been available for ages, I thought I'd take the opportunity after all this time to offer it for all as a FREE download
