Bootsale booty 20th August.

Very poor weather so had to be quick but not too bad, total spent £20.

Boxed SNES plus 6 games £10
Scramble 50p
Point Blank 1 & 2, FFVII £3
Snes controller & boxed Street Fighter2 £3.50
3 other SNES games £3.

Hardly saw any PS1 or PS2 games or consoles, all older stuff including an Atari plus a load of common games. Nothing to add to my collection but some interesting stuff nonetheless.

Not a bad day (apart from the weather). Here's what we got.

Image

1x boxed Quickshot Python 1m (multi-format joystick) £1.50
2x GameGear games (Columns and Monaco GP) - £1 each
1x SNES with two controllers (good condition case - shame the unit was f*cked) £5
1x boxed Master System II with 2 games (Sonic and Wonder Boy III) £5
1x unboxed Mega Drive II with 3 games (Sonic, SF II, Mega Games I also had a boxed DC Virtua Tennis in the bag) £5
1x SNES with one controller and no PSU £2.50
1x Mega Drive with 3 controllers, 2 arcade sticks and no PSU £1.86
5x Mega Drive games (Worms, Sonic Spinball, Road Rash 3, Sonic 3D, Mega Games III) £5
3x NES games (Top Gun, Solar Jetman x2) £3

There were 4 other retro hunters there, and I noticed one had a boxed Barcode Battler. Still looking for a boxed SNES though.

P.S. Does someone wanna swap a copy of Solar Jetman for another NES game?

Something I realised today (and I have no idea why I didn't spot it before).
How does it happen that people will have a console with all bits to it, spare controllers etc but no games??? Surely they played games on it at some point so where are they?
And conversely, what about people selling loads of games but no console? They must have had a machine. I'm not referring to traders though, I'm talking about general sellers.

OK, the reason someone might sell the console only is that they've sold the games at a shop or at a previous bootsale. The two SNESs i got today, the seller was flogging the games seperately.

As for selling the games and no console, again a simple reason would be that console is actually bust and they've thrown it away. Although that doesn't seem to bother most sellers as they'll happily flog a broken machine as working... THE SWINES!

Boot sales arent the only place you can find stuff, a local school fete a few years back had a dc and I got a dc from a church baazar, also try £1 bin in gamestation, thats where most of my little brothers sms games came from. I could trade SMB3 for Solar jetman If I cant take it back to the shop without the recipet, theres nothing wrong with it Ive just got 2 copys it and only need 1

I got a MDII and 27 games for £4.70 today from the local farmer's market, not bad. Although that brings me up to five copies of Sonic.

Could someone tell me which game does Sonic & Knuckles link up to? I put Sonic 1 on top but it just says "no way"......

Sonic 2 and 3 should work, I know in Sonic jam, sonic1 links but its just a bonus stage.
Sonic 2 gives you Knuckles the edchina in sonic 2 and sonic 3 gives you sonic 3 and knuckles allowing a knuckles story line

I've got 3 copies of SMB3 now - so not really on the lookout for anymore. If you've got a SMB2 i'd definately trade.
