Dom Diamond interviewed

Post by Lorfarius » Mon Mar 15, 2010 8:40 am

Not sure if this has been mentioned but well worth a listen, very funny and informative interview with Dom Diamond on his Gamesmaster years.

Runs for about 1 hour 40 minutes.

Good interview
(Try to avoid viewing it via youtube as its not a playlist so you will have to look for the next part)

Liked the bit when he said "Me as the Gamesmaster"

I have to say I have said the same thing when I left the inde games store I keep talking about
The look on the fat fucks face was funny

I always hated this guy during the "Gamesmaster" period of Videogaming. I always thought he was such a massive penis. (and not in the good sense! ) Sadly as it was the only Videogames program on TV I had to suffer this pile of dogshit just to catch footage of videogames in action.

I'll watch this with interest though, as I've come to regard him as more than the way that stupid CiTV shitfest presented him.

Oh, and Channel 4 should NOT bring Gamesmaster back to the TV Screen (as apparently they're hoping to do) as the introduction of the Internet has basically killed magazine-style format show stone dead. Why wait for some minor Z-list "Celebrity" to do a challenge on Gamesmaster so you can see the game in action, when you can Youtube 500 clips yourself? Why listen to Company-paid-for reviews from "The man" when you can read and watch real proper reviews from real actual people online?

All that will happen is the show gets made - people won't watch (for the above reasons) and the show will get cancelled, stating "Low viewer numbers" and no other (read: MUCH BETTER) videogames programs will be commissioned.

Listened to about 3/4 of the interview, fascinating stuff! Thanks again for posting the link lorf, all the memories came flooding back listening to it. I'll catch the rest of it on my lunch today.

Have you listened to podcasts from that show before? The presenters seem quite good. Not annoying like some others...

No but I spent a good deal of time going through all their episode lists (almost 200!) picking out interesting ones. Will start working my way through them on the iPhone :D

Completely disagree with you. Internet killed print media, not TV. So long as they make it entertaining then it matters not a jot if you can find other stuff on the internet.
