1970 for me, so with video arcade games a year away and home consoles two years in the future, we're talking mainframe games. The winner is...

High Noon

Thanks to the wonders of emulation you can play it here:

1982:

Vectrex gets released, as does the 5200 and the C64.

Games that got released:

TRON, Q-Bert, Dig Dug, Pole Position, JOUST and Xevious.

ET also got released, and then buried in the Nevada Desert.

-Back to Skool
-Boulder Dash
-Buggy Boy
-Chaos: The Battle of Wizards
-City Connection
-Commando
-Deus Ex Machina
-Eggerland Mystery
-FANTASY ZONE!!!
-Gauntlet!
-Ghosts 'N Goblins!
-Gradius! (a good year for games that begin with G)
-Gun.Smoke
-Hang-On
-Ice Climber
-Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom
-The Legend of Kage
-Lunar Pool (LOVE this game)
-M.U.S.C.L.E. (got this on the SMS, only it's called Pro Wrestling)
-Ninja JaJaMaru-kun
-Paradroid
-Penguin Land
-Penguin Wars (good one, too)
-Repton
-Rush'n Attack
-Sega Ninja (best game ever)
-Skool Daze
