Oh , yes , one of my favourite eras!

Without checking , I'm assuming these are all from that era

Toonstruck
Fallout 1&2
Star Trek 25th Anniversary & Judgement Rites (absolutely ESSENTIAL if you're a Trekkie!)
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy
Star Trek: Borg and Klingon
Wing Commander I-IV
Tie Fighter and add-ons ,
X-Wing and add-ons (although nowhere near as good as Tie)
Kingdom O'Magic
Realms Of The Haunting
C&C / Red Alert
ALL of the Lucasarts point'n'click adventures , in particular DOTT , Monkey Island and Fate Of Atlantis
Panzer General
Warhammer:Shadow Of The Horned Rat
Ecstatica 1 & 2

There are lots more

PC gaming in general doesn't appeal to me but there were a few games that had me hooked back in the 90's...

Outlaws (Wild West FPS with some great music)
Myst
Riven (sequel to Myst)
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

That runs on my Quad core thanks to steam, used to play it a fair bit.

Some of the above mentioned I remember and may even possibly have in the attic, this is going good so far.
Current costs £0

Another DN engine game- Shadow Warrior, funny eastern take.

Heretic was a slightly buffed up doom engine in a fantasy setting, then Hexen, famous for it's "hub" gameplay...

One word:

CARMAGEDDON!!!

+1 for Star Trek 25th Anniversary and Judgment Rites.
Blood can be a b!tch to get working though, so be prepared to have a good old fiddle with it to get working.
JSW's Guff Emporium! <- My bit of t'internet.

Im used to it by now, it wont be the first or last game to involve fettleing. Bit like old cars, can take a bit of Jiggery pokery to get working but can give you one hell of drive when they are working.

I have Dungeon Keeper 2 and i would like to have a bash at it again, might see how it runs under Windows 7.

I'd be hard pushed to think of a BAD PC game from the 90s!

Just looking through all the old PC Zone magazines, they were all winners in their own little way.

A few favourites:
Little Big Adventure 2: Twinsen's Odyssey
Total Annihilation
RollerCoaster Tycoon
Grim Fandango
Krush Kill N Destroy Xtreme
Quake II
Worms Armageddon
Myth
Dark Reign
Theme Hospital
Blood
Terminal Velocity
Full Throttle
My comics blog (mostly lesser-known UK stuff from the 80s and 90s)
