Anyone remember Crazy Sue?

Post by Doddsy » Sun Dec 27, 2009 3:50 pm

Anyone remember Crazy Sue for the Amiga? It was a platform game that had a little girl running through a forest with some really catchy c64 style music and cartoony graphics. I guess that the best things in life are free!

Anyone finish it or have any info on who Thorin Oakenshield for code and DJ Braincrack for artwork and music really were? Retro Gamer should investigate. Maybe do an article on retro PD games.

Crazy Sue wasn't public domain, it was commercial - some of the PD libraries in the UK held it by mistake.

I remember buying Crazy Sue 2 on public domain for the Amiga 1200, and not getting far in the game as either a) it was was censored-brick hard or b) it crashed. Or both. I wanted to like the game, as it looked rather good, but...nah. Too hard, and it crashed too often.

I got it with one of those "magazines" that was like an A4 pamphlet with a disk attached... similar to Rampage but with only one thing on the disk. Unfortunately it can't have been a good experience for me because I remember next to nothing else about it! Maybe I'll track down an ADF tomorrow.

I remember playing this although it didn't appeal to me so cant really remember much about it.

It's listed on Lemon Amiga and there was also a sequel.

I remember "Crazy Sue Goes On"... my dad had that game installed on his A1200 HD. Good but very difficult. My older brother used to find it scary!

If only!

Sadly, it wasn't. It was a platformer where you control a little girl through a castle.

I remember getting this off a magazine coverdisk years ago. I used to play it loads and did eventually complete it (it's got nine levels I think) but I've no idea if it has an ending, or anything like that. I just remember it being jolly difficult to complete.

I remember it being on a coverdisk too. Itwas one of those games I wanted to enjoy more than I actually did.

If memory serves, i think the Amiga version was shipped with Amiga Fun and the C64 with C64 Fun, vestigial mags strapped to cover disks. The Amiga version might've shipped with another mag as well, though...?

That's what HOL says - it was indeed one of those games that came with a mag (as opposed to the other way round?). Never knew that one.

It did find its way onto other magazines' disks too, later on. Pretty sure I got the game off a copy of Amiga Action (spit).
