interesting/funny/unsual game titles

Post by Nemesis » Wed Dec 23, 2009 2:20 pm

You know, I do miss some of the more interesting videogame names back in the early 80's when the industry wasn't quite so commercialised. Titles such as "Fat Worm Blows a sparky", "Sam Stoat Safebreaker" or "Herbert's Dummy Run" resonate with me much more than the rather unimaginative names of today eg. Fifa 10+

So what are the most interesting/funny/unsual games titles that you've come across?

Well, two ones that are pretty well known are Zombies Ate My Neighbors and the other one I can't remember - I know it was something along the lines of Amazing Crapstains. Anybody know a synonym for crapstain?

Don't know if it was ever released, but I remember reading about an upcoming Jaguar game called Apeshit. Funny stuff!

On the same level, there's Toki: Going Ape Spit on that Mega Drive thing.

Funnily enough my latest Lovefilm allocation is "Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! What Did I Do to Deserve This? " Which I think counts as odd.

I remember "Humpty Dumpty meets the Fuzzy Wuzzies" being advertised during Artic's World Cup game, I ended up buying it for the name alone...I didn't like it as it was a stupid puzzle game where you rotated the screen, which is actually the sort of game I love playing now. Maybe I'll have a look on WOS for it.

An obvious one is "Attack Of The Mutant Zombie Flesh Eating Chickens From Mars" or "Star Paws" as we now know it.

Or how about "Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People Episode 4: Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective"

I always thought Metal Gear Solid to be a pretty funny/interesting title (or is it the festive cheer?)- I remember first hearing it and thinking 'huh??'

"The Ninjabread Man" is a favourite of mine (name-wise that is - the game itself sucks!)

Also there is a Japanese MSX game that is generally translated as "Tomboyish Becky's Large Adventure" :D

Yes, how did I forget that one. I think the literal Japanese translation went along the lines of "For a hero, you're really impudent!"

Not forgetting "Gerry the germ goes bodypoppin'" on the C64
