But yeah I'm generalising. I was speaking value wise.

I'm closing in on a 100 PAL PS2 games now and there's loads I still want to try out/collect plus countless others waiting to be discovered. It's the only console that I genuinely collect all the time for with others usually just been a bit here and a bit there.

In my opinion, the platform is great for:

- Fighters
- JRPG's
- Obscure crap (D3 Publisher stuff)

It also helps that practically every genre is represented on the system with some great games.

Strangely I don't have many fighters. Tekken 5, Dead or Alive 2 and Capcom SNK 2.

I have purchased a flurry or decent FPS games lately as its a genre I have largely ignored. Timesplitters 1-2-3, Red Faction 1-2, Darkwatch, Black, Killzone to name a few. All cost me no more than a fiver a pop. Completed Red Faction1-2 and Darkwatch so far.

Here is my current list i am looking for.

Ace combat Zero
Driving Emotion USA
Kingdom Hearts 2
Okami
Onimusha
Onimusha 3
Mortal Kombat
Moto GP4
FF Dirge of Cerberus
Devil Summoner 2
Shox
GTC Africa

I love Jap shooters, but for the love of f*ck, would you ever shut up about them?!

Just you tubed it to see all the fuss and its another boring bullet hell shooter. I miss the days of shooters with a bit of class and design. UN Squadron, Axelay, Raiden, Aeroblasters, Aleste, R-Type and so on. Much more fun for me.

Heh, stuff like Raiden I like, not so much a fan of Gradius now though.

Well, if you're interested in them then there's plenty of good ones to get. They may be slightly inferior to other versions but I haven't really played any that are horrendously broken or unplayable just because they're on PS2.

I've been collecting PS2 games since 2007. I'm now up to 250 titles and there's still so much to buy! I was always into the Gamecube during that generation - but since the prices have come down so low, collecting for the PS2 has never been easier (and I don't have to get any of the multi format games that I already have for the Cube)!

I have 60 PS2 games now nearly all obscure, Haunting Ground, Kuon, Echo Night Beyond, Homura, Rule of Rose got most of them in the 3 for £10 or 3 for £5 mostly which is a godsend..

Picked up Alter Iris, Alter Iris 2, Star Wars Bounty Hunter and the Sims in the 4 for £20 yesterday.. I only wanted the Altier Iris games both which where mint with music cd's.. If only I had picked up Personna 4:(

Great to see some other collectors.
Batman that is a mighty haul you have, I don't know my target I just pick up as much quality as I can with a smattering of guilty pleasures also. I try to only buy games I intend to play.
I picked up so many titles becuase of the years I was into my cars, not playing games much bar Winning Eleven but kept buying regardless which gave me a huge backlog. Then the new generation of consoles came out but I have so little interest in them bar a few titles my PS2 remained my console of choice.

Try Thunder Force VI as that is a great shoot'em up. I'd also recommend Strikers 1945 and Psyvariar. I also add the second Yakuza game as well! I'd also recommend Crash Team Racing(if Mario Kart stuff is your thing?).
