Hullo guys,
CVG recently published an interview with Julian Rignall of Zzap, Mean Machines, CVG and other mags fame. Apologies if this has been mentioned previously. The search didn't turn up anything.

Amstrad fans may wish to avert their eyes halfway through the interview.

Rignall defended the Amstrad in an issue of Zzap 64(Letters page) i seem to remember, after a reader wrote in asking how Rignall could be a fan of the amstrad-Did`nt Rignall tell him not to be such a blinkered idiot? and list superior amstrad versions of ping pong, highway encounter etc and stuff the C64 never got? i.e Isometric Batman? :?

So, odd to see him slagging it now.

Interesting interview. I always wondered what happened to Jazza.

Loved Zzap and Crash magazines back in the day when me and 4 other mates used to read it cover to cover then pass it on.

Great days indeed.

Nowadays it's games magazines full of pR0n ads at the back whic to me says they are sh1t if they cannot generate revenue any other way.

Thank god for Retrogamer and Games magazines.

Great article especially liked the talk about creating a sort of best of comiliation of classic mags. Will probably never happen but something like the RG Collection's could be fun to read through.

Thanks for posting. I'll read the interview later. Jaz and the teams were my heroes when I was an avid Zzap reader. Be great to see him interviewed in RG. Or perhaps as a columnist. He could replace Iain Lee!

Probably the biggest thing I've done in the US was launching IGN.com.
Don't be so modest! He joined them as editorial.

Hail the might Jaz, interesting interview, I just loved that era of magazines. Have RG ever done a big interview with him at all?

Sadly, the mullet is no more...

Hmmm. I think it was in 1994 that the thing that started as a Howard Jones haircut, but then became a Duran Duran 'do, then a Mohican, then a mullet, then el mullet supremo and finally a "90's ad exec ponytail" was finally all chopped off and became something much less crap and infinitely more sensible. Now I've got a "just pulled off my crash helmet" haircut, because I just did.

Ha! I obviously missed that part. A big shame, I can only picture him in my head with that crazy hair do.
