First game related single I ever got was Yellow Magic Orchestra's theme from Invaders. That must have been around '79. Crap, I'm old :(
Yellow Magic Orchestra was new to me and quite interesting to hear.

I think the Hot Gossip song was "I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper"...

The disco song "Space Invaders" was done by a group called "Player 1" (or Playback)...

I found this Space Invaders Anime Music Video just now and I like it too...

There was a pop-rock group here in New Zealand who had a very popular #1 song in 1979 called "Computer Games".
Here it is...

Surprised that no one's mentioned "Stakker Humanoid" by Humanoid, which sampled the speech from the arcade version of Berzerk heavily.

Of course the folks from Humanoid later became Future Sound of London, but even had an interview in Commodore User back in the day about the tune, which was rather good.

And the "humanoid must not escape" sample from the same machine also made it into Caustic Window's "The Humanoid Must Not Escape" as part of the "Compilation" album. Caustic Window is another alias for Aphex Twin.

I cannot believe I haven't seen a mention of the ever so cheesy Dr Spin - Tetris track.
On top of that, although I cannot remember what it was called, on a recent Bonkers album, there was a happy hardcore track that heavily sampled the Pac-Man intro tune.

This is an instrumental that has lots of retro games featured in the video.
