Didn't someone do an AWFUL rap over Supermario land not long after Dr Spin's Tetris?

Eiffel 64 - My Console

It's all about Playstation games and I remember it being pretty awful.

Buckner & Garcia's Do the Donkey Kong was, and still is, a wonderful song.

Ambassadors Of Funk - Of course! How could I have forgotten that - I've actually got it buried on my generic MP3 player on one of the Now that's what I call music albums.
Even my ma, she thinks I’m crazy, but I've got to rescue Daisy!

I've still got the Hot Gossip Space Invaders single. I doubt it was officially sanctioned by Taito but it's got proper invader graphics on the cover (along with... er, scantily clad ladies).

First game related single I ever got was Yellow Magic Orchestra's theme from Invaders. That must have been around '79. Crap, I'm old :(

Classic. I remember Bad Influence went on the set of the filming of the video. Wasent it tied in to the launch of Sonic 3?

Cool! didn't know Aphex Twin did that. Remember Carl Cox dropping it on one of his hardcore mix sets. Just thought it was a Pacman sound effect mixed in.

They actually did a whole album of awful, awful hip-hop Mario remixes, the album's called Super Mario Compact Disco if you have the guts to find it.

I actually have a shameful amount of these kinds of songs on my laptop, including the aforementioned Ambassadors of Funk, Buckner & Garcia, a completely bizarre CD with lyrics added to Sega games with questionable results, and one very few people know of- Donkey Kong Goes Home, which is a cash-in of the worst variety. There used to be a download of it somewher on Hardcore Gaming 101, but I'll be damned if I can find it now...

Although mentioned few years ago, here's the link that referenced songs about videogames:
