Calling all Dreamcast collectors

Post by Stuart_c » Tue Sep 08, 2009 7:09 am

EDIT: I have decided to do a feature on this so if you can help me out with this please do :D

You know how with some Dreamcast games you get bonus content (Wallpapers, video's, ect...) if you pop it in your PC's drive, I was just wondering what games all had this. All i can find are Shenmue 2, Sonic Adventure, F1 World GP and Dead or Alive 2. If some one knows where there is an online archive also that would be great.

Strange, i always thought the DC disks were unreadable in a normal PC drive.

Just checked a few of mine and there was only three files on each, even ISObuster could not extract anything.

My PAL DOA2 does not have any bonus content, what region/release are you looking at.
Failure isn't about falling down, failure is staying down.

My DOA2 is pal also but when it's in a PC drive it brings up the 3 files you mentioned and a folder called "bonus" which contains wallpapers of the girls in their bikini's. Here's a video of the content it should have on your disc http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... D=42844029

Nah. There's a low density area that can be read by the PC (+ audio tracks if avaliable), the high density area that contains most of the game files can not be read.

Some discs has that 'omake' stuff on the disc in the low density area.

Great topic question, Romulous. It'd be great if someone knows of any such archive. :)

Why don't we make our own, doods? We must have a fair amount of DC games between us!

Far as I know there isn't a database regarding the hidden extras on Dreamcast discs

For the most part the extras were generally exclusive wallpapers. If you care about extra art it's a nice enough bonus I suppose but not that many games outside sega's own really provided them bar a few exceptions ala DoA2. Sonic Adventure 2 had wallpapers too and I think Phantasy Star Online's DC games had Wallpapers too

 Thats exactly what i was thinking, i've already ripped the pics off the discs i mentioned ready to stick on my site tonight. The Shemue 2 content is actually really good, it has wallpapers, a couple of promo video's, some small animated b/w gifs (think Nokia 3310) and some nice concept art. The Sonic Adventure disc contains some wallpapers as does F1 GP. If any one has some others that could be used it would be greatly apreciated (Phantasy Star would be top banana :D ).

Search for omake on this page and you'll get a list of some of the games that have such stuff on the GD:
