Games Company 'Clubs'
Off the top of me head there were ones for Gremlin Graphics, Tynesoft, A Microdeal Cuthbert Club, and I was a proud member of the Firebird Silverbird club - received many newsletters, a membership card (which I never used in anger), a pen, a free game, and a badge (which I still have somewhere).
Did anyone else ever post off to these things back in the day?

I never joined a games company club. But I did join the star wars fan club. I got loads of goodies and insider info etc etc. It was great. I must have only been 4 or 5! I remember making my mom read everything out to me again and again

I don't suppose you still have any of the old Silver Club newsletters do you? I'm always on the look-out for further issues to be posted up on my site:clarance wrote:Off the top of me head there were ones for Gremlin Graphics, Tynesoft, A Microdeal Cuthbert Club, and I was a proud member of the Firebird Silverbird club - received many newsletters, a membership card (which I never used in anger), a pen, a free game, and a badge (which I still have somewhere).

I was a member of the Star Wars Fan Club too and still have an entire set of Bantha Tracks magazines somewhere in my attic

As far as computer games clubs go - I did join the Magnetic Scrolls 'Official Secrets' adventure game fan club. That was brilliant and the only way to get hold of the game Myth at the time.
Re: Games Company 'Clubs'

Don't ever remember throwing them away, but I had a good dig about at me mams a while back and couldn't turn them up then. Will have another look in a week or so - I remember I had quite a few of them from issue two onwards - and I can do you a scan of the tin badge if you want - great site by the way.rainbird rich wrote: I don't suppose you still have any of the old Silver Club newsletters do you? That would be great. Just let me know if you do turn anything up. Some one tried scanning the tin badge before and it didn't scan well. A digi' photo would be better if you do unearth one!clarance wrote:Don't ever remember throwing them away, but I had a good dig about at me mams a while back and couldn't turn them up then.
