Your faviroute music from games

Post by Joey » Sat Jul 25, 2009 12:12 pm

Just done a search on this and couldnt find anything about it in detail.

So, as the topic suggests please post up your faviroute in game music. Theres many memorable pieces music to me but these are my faviroute 3 in no particular order....Strangely they are all from the first level of the game.

1. Starwing - Corneria

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDFJQC7BhD8

2. Streets of Rage 2 - Go Straight

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcewDDeofI0

3. F-Zero - Mute City

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8fe4I8ZTCE

Its so close between Mute City and BIg blue but i love the intro to Mute.

This thread has definatley been done before somewhere but what the hell!

Plok has awesome music by Tim Follin (of computer Ghouls N' Ghosts and Bionic Commando fame)

The Sonic Games - Love Ice Cap zone's tune, Scrap Brain, Chemical Plant

Castlevania Bloodline

Strider - Totally timeless, Love it when you run down the hill of bombs and jump the gap only to have that tune start up and everything go dark and silhouetted

Thunder Force V - The remixed TFIV tune where you fight the older spaceship

Silver Surfer - another great Tim Follin soundtrack, great game too though quite difficult

Streets of Rage 2

Yo! Joe! - great soundtrack from start to finish

Apidya - Chris Huelsbeck at his greatest

Huge list but little effort put in since I copied and pasted it all from posts I've made in similar threads on other forums  . I have more but maybe later since this is far too many!

These first two are from FFVI. The first one is 'Dancing Mad Part 3' (from the final run of bosses in FFVI). Absolutely love this one.

The second FFVI track is 'Dancing Mad Part 4' which features an epic build up at the beginning which really adds to the sense of fighting an all-powerful God-like being.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONdHEDeWifs

And because I love FFVIII, I'll have to mention 'Force Your Way', the standard boss music from the game.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SneYMN66cEs

'Valkyrie March' from Odin Sphere:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SriP0TBw ... re=related

'Heartful Cry' from SMT: Persona 3 FES:

'The Battle for Everyone's Souls', again, from Persona 3 FES:

End credits from Persona 3 FES. Listen to the whole thing, they're the best credits I ever did hear!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAJTnsiUfe0

The boss music from the battle with Chaos at the end of FF1. Simplistic by today's standards but still cool.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6qPh1iB ... L&index=36

This track from Mana Khemia. Not the best but still some pretty cool battle music:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AChR-YKA9U

Also, another MK battle theme:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2HSSTbW ... re=related

The swamp level from Marvel VS Capcom 2:

Donovan Baine's theme from Nightwarriors/Vampire Hunter:

Music from 'Vanity Paradise', Hsien Ko's stage in Vampire Saviour

My favourite track from Pocket Fighter:

The intro to Plok is ultra catchy! My fave Sonic tune would be starlight zone, though nowadays it sounds a bit like shopping center music

Is there a thread that HASN'T been done before in one form or another?

My all time fave is from a game virtually no-one's heard of called Foundations Waste for ST

Warhwak and Elektraglide (800XL) come third and fourth.

After that it's pretty much most C64 SID titles

Music in games ceased to be memorable and great after the 16-bit machines though

Blimey, there's too much to list, so I'll skip all the songs that everyone and their mom knows, and just go for 6 obscure ones...

Truxton II - Live in Future
Mountain of Faith - The Gensokyo the Gods Loved
Outrun 2006: Coast2Coast - Shake the Street (2006 Arrange)
Rayforce - Penetration
The GG Shinobi - Building 1
The New Zealand Story (NES) - Main Theme (Done by Tim Follin, it's the best version of this song.)

And as a bonus, this one gets a mention because of the excellent comment on the video:
Waku Waku 7 - Waku Waku Battle!
"I love this song. It's like putting Scatman in a blender."

I love the Daytona USA original tunes. The Blue Blue Skies one and, of course, the Daytonaaaaa! one. :D

By comparison, the CCE version tunes on the Saturn sucked monkey balls, with that croaking numpty who struggled with the higher notes.
Thoughts and prayers.
