Its wednesday which means these games will be out at midnight...

X Com Enemy Unknown
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=193607

Now its a HUGE filesize (need 5 gig free to download, installed takes up about 1.9 gig), plus its 'expensive' at $20 which is about i think 15 quid. But to have this game on your iphone/ipad is amazing. My problem is freeing up that amount of space!

Gloomy Hollow

Only 69p, looks great, looks like 'i hope' a large RPG with tons of different quests etc, someone said it could be the iOS equivalent of 'Torchlight'. I'll be picking this one up later for sure

Retro Pocket games
http://toucharcade.com/link/https://itu ... d421561752

Heres one, theres 8 on the app store if you search for retro pocket. Theres a free one called retro pocket fireman. These are the best 'homages' i've seen to game and watches. I'm going to buy all of them now, proper game and watch style graphics, buttons/instructions etc. Its funny having one of these games on your expensive iOS device, surreal playing one of these old classic 1980 style games all these years later. Worth it for a nostalgia trip or to show to your mates 'remember these types of games'.

Forget Angry Birds, Knights of the Old Republic, X-Com.

This is what you want on your £300 iOS device....

http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=2876711

Seriously its a great version of the old classic. Theres even a Firefox F7 clone ( https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/retrofo ... 36490?mt=8). Finally Star Laser ( https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/bqlsi-s ... 58532?mt=8)

Its great having old game n watch clones on my device (app store has loads of them) but these are good to have

Well worth picking up for a quid or two for a nostalgic trip down memory lane

Are these licensed games, or have the copyright holders gone awol? Just seems a bit of a cheek to charge a 'premium' iOS price for someone else's game.

They do look good though.

Unsure, presume not.

Difficult one as i wish these old companies (if they still own the IP) would allow homages/versions of their old games. Find it depressing when these old games just 'disappear'. I mean with Lucasarts going down under i hope someone bids to make a conversion of Rogue Squadron (would work so well on iOS) or Dark Forces, instead they just sit there gathering dust forever.

The Firefox clone is an homage for sure, shame the buttons dont look better but hearing the sound and seeing the graphics for the first time is great.

Found these as i was looking for game n watch style games, love the way they try to make these realistic with the instructions and the way the case looks all old etc.

I must admit i dont mind helping out the dev, yeah its 1.99 but a couple of quid to have this old classic on my ipod/ipad is great. Hope theres more

Has Solstice Arena been mentioned?

It's a 3 vs 3 MOBA in the vein of Dota 2 and League of Legends where you can play against bots or online with other players. The structure of the game and controls work really well (even on the iPhones small screen). It's free to play with the free heroes on rotation or you can purchase one you like through in game or real world money.

I'm really impressed!

The game title i must admit reminds me of a weekend in Amsterdam back in my early 20's ! Anyway enough of that...

Willys Great Adventure is now out on iOS. I thought this was the Matthew Smith one, my fault for not checking the app description. This seems to be a fan version made back in the 80's. So bit of a letdown there (just bought it as well !)

So this isnt the Matthew Smith one coming up, this is just a fan version made in the 80's....

Limbo
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=195030

The huge hit on the XBox has arrived on iOS, game looks amazing, bought it late last night, enjoying it. Well worth picking up

Also theres quite a few sales as its nearing the 4th of July in the US so they always have these yearly sales...

http://toucharcade.com/2013/07/02/fourt ... -and-more/

Some great games for 69p including Bastion, Midway Arcade, Tapper HD (Ipad only) and Batman

But Bastion for 69p ? Buy buy buy ! Even if you havent got room on your device for all these games its worth picking some up at this price so you can install them later.

Also Codemasters classic Colin McRaes rally is now 69p...

Yep same for Limbo

Frustrating I know. Reminds me of the early years of PCs when every 6 months you felt like you had to upgradebas your pc was an old spec

Sold my iPod 4th gen last year as more and more games were crashing or wouldn't work on it

Yeah i never knew about this game before (As i dont have an X-Box), but its an epic game.

Limbo is another classic, loving that, wont work on older devices (eg ipod touch 4). But looks amazing and its a brilliant puzzle platformer.

What with X-Com out as well theres a fair few 'big name' titles out the last few months. Once all the external controllers are released and working fine i can see there being even more big name games coming

Having played the 360 version of Bastion, the iOS game translates really well. I'm glad they haven't gone for virtual sticks (unless its in the option menu) as tapping the screen to move is just fine.

I must admit i'm a virtual stick kinda fan. I'm glad they added both options

Either way its a great title to have on your device. When it first came to iOS it was Ipad only, so glad they made it universal
