Arkham City Lockdown is basically a Batman flavoured version of Infinity Blade with controls that aren't quite as precise. I picked it up a couple of weeks back when it was 69p and am enjoying playing it through. It looks good and plays well if you like that type of game.

I downloaded the following currently free games earlier today,

Starbounder HD,
- could be described as a Trailblazer clone with a flavour of WipEout
- lovely graphics and some fun to be had

Magic Portals,
- lovely-looking 16-bit style platformer (of sorts) with puzzle elements where one is required to teleport to progress

3D Rollercoaster Rush: Jurassic / 3D Rollercoaster Rush: Haunted,
- simple but fun roller coaster arcade games that are challenging once past the first few levels

3D Mini Golf Challenge,
- only played the first three levels so far and it's been fun

Well i'm in heaven if this comes out...

http://www.vectrexregeneration.com/

Download the 'press pack' and you can read what they've done, theyve got the official licenses to the 20 original Vectrex games, plus they hope to put some homebrew games on (as theres some good uns). It'll be icade compatible as well.

Cant wait, this will be one of my favourite apps if it comes out, their twitter feed hasnt been updated for a week or so but the last one was talking about hoping to show something very soon.

Love the Vectrex games and to be able to have a version on my ipod/ipad will be brilliant.

Here's hoping there'll be,

* the option to hear the humming background sound when playing :D
* the option to play with all the relevant (virtual) screen overlays :D
* the 'glow' and 'ghosting' effects of the Vectrex screen mimicked as well as could be expected

I also hope the price of the app is very reasonable too given that all the original commercial Vectrex game ROMs were legitimately released for free some time ago now. I would therefore expect to see all the commercial games included in the app.

I'm guessing the subsequent Vectrex home brew releases may be made available via the IAP model.

Downloading their PDF it seems to suggest it was created by Vectrex fanatics, so its not just a case of someone coming in thinking 'hey retro seems in, lets sell it'. Seems like its made by real fans. Heres hoping it'll turn out alright, i LOVE vector games, (found about 40 of them on the app store which i've got in 3 folders), but i just want Scramble to look and play well, anything else to me is a bonus !

If I didn't already own a Vectrex with several CIB games plus...

... then I'd now be giving serious consideration to buying the new iPad with an iCade. Not just to play this Vectrex app with, of course, but seeing this getting released may have been the clincher for me in shelling out all that cash.

Well i'm a bit nervous ! Just sold my ipad 2 to my sister, getting an ipad 3 for my birthday next month. I read someone had an ipad 3 and despite downloading iMame before (when it was accidentally on the app store in December for 2 days), it wouldnt let them install iMame on it !

(gulp) !

I'll find out in a few weeks, i'll be gutted if iMame doesnt install on it ! Still love the icade but iMame does make it that much better.

Vectrex? Yes please! I am so close to getting an iPad, an iCade will surely follow when this comes out. Could never afford a Vectrex so this will be the next best thing.

This game has come out a bit early, should hit the UK tonight at midnight...

Gears & Guts
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=145535

If you watch the gameplay video looks a cool Carmeggedon-esque style game. I'll be getting this later, there looks to be tons of IAP's sadly but hopefully theyre not essential. From the video it plays well though, touch or tilt controls

Well its that time of the week, some great games coming out tonight at midnight...

Orc Vengence
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=145736

Seems a great hack n slash Diablo-esque type game

Shellrazer
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=145740

At first thought it was a traditional shoot em up, looks more like an 'angry birds' style attack system (different weapons to use) as the 'tortoise' thing moves along. Looks good actually (and i'm not a angry birds fan)

Manos Act of fate
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=145739

Looks a really good NES style retro platformer

SolaRola
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=145748

Another good platform game

Spy vs Spy
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=145753

Remake of the old classic, new updated graphics and apparently you can play the old C64 version as well

Blazing Star
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=145760

Think this is the old Neo Geo shoot em up, happy to get this !!!

Walking Dead
http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=145735

Based on the PC game, bit of an interactive adventure (Eg like a Fighting Fantasy gamebook), looks decent

Shellrazer
- looks pretty cool. Several influences there by the looks of it, e.g. Angry Birds, Plants vs Zombies, et al.

SolaRola
- looks interesting and fairly promising.

Blazing Star
- wow! Can't help wondering if this already hard game will be made even harder using touchscreen controls so maybe iCade is the way to go.

Must admit i love relative touch, if it has this (i presume it will) i'll be happy. Apparently Metal Slug was icade compatible (i couldnt get it working) so perhaps this other game by SNK will be

Aye, some players actually find these shmups are EASIER with touch controls as opposed to a stick, which is.... a little baffling, but still.

Blazing Star is quite good though, so this is a pleasant surprise. So long as they get it right.

I'm still waiting for baldurs gate to get released. I must say, touchscreen gaming is much more enjoyable experience on a iPad. However, I tried to have a bash at zen pinball on my iPod touch earlier to see what it would be like, my god, never again.
