Re: Sonic & Sega All-stars Racing
Yea!
The game mechanics are near indentical to Mario Kart 64 which by far my favourite of the lot.
The tracks I've come across so far have been fantastic, including that trippy Samba de Amigo level.
The fan service is top notch. Haven't been this impressed with a game like this in ages, maybe it's just because I expected nothing. But that doesn't matter.

No I agree. This is a blinding game and I'm really surprised with it! Eurogamer gave it a 6/10 which I think is ridiculous. One of the best Sega games in years, this actually reminds me why Sega games are so good, I think I probably even prefer it to Outrun 2! Thank you Sumo Digital!

I know what track you mean & Trippy is definitely the exact word to describe it! Deffo my favourite trackBornToEnd wrote: The tracks I've come across so far have been fantastic, including that trippy Samba de Amigo level.

Came across something substandard on this game.
For some unknown reason you can't play GP over Xbox Live, only individual races. Odd.
Plus, the guy from Space Harrier would have made a great character.

I played 1 track in Time Trial mode for almost an hour. it's a great idea to have online leaderboards/ranking, as well as staff ghosts and your own ghost for your best run. I am going to have loads of fun figuring out how people can beat my best lap by over 10 seconds.
I love racing to the Sonic R song, "Super Sonic Racing". Sonic R *did* serve a purpose after all! *
* actually I enjoyed Sonic R back in the day - it was just way too brief.

Was playing on xbox live last night, pretty good but the 'lap an opponent achievement' is practically impossible without cheating or having a very long race.
Bought 'can you feel the sunshine' and turned off the commentator, this game is sega hog heaven. Agree its better than MK wii with more variety but it makes the same mistake of having tracks that are too wide.

Well knock me down with a feather I got home from work this evening the other half said she bought me a little something when she was out at the shops today. That's right she's only gone and bought me a copy! Happy days.
Just played a quick race after putting my daughter to bed & it plays ace, some great characters there.
I do think they've missed a trick by not having Funkatron's finest as characters though!

Re: Sonic & Sega All-stars Racing
There's a ton of characters and tracks they COULD have put in, but i'm hoping for a few little DLC's maybe?
Still enjoying it massively, spent a good few hours trying to beat a mates time on one track on time trial. This is a game thats just calling out for a little RG forum session isn't it?
Also, getting this on a 360 at Retro Rewind would be superb, and rather apt too seeing as it's made by Sumo.

This is sounding better all the time which means I'm now thinking about getting hold of a copy! I'm not sure whether to get the Wii or 360 version though I think I'm leaning towards the Wii.
