Plants vs. Zombies

Post by Team Alfie » Thu May 14, 2009 4:46 pm

So I must officially be a casual gamer now. I am totally addicted to this and it's the first time I've ever really got into the 'tower defence' genre. I'd go as far as to call it faultless. Genius presentation and the kind of perfectly balanced gamplay I normally associate with Advance Wars. There's a good deal of variety in adventure mode and what appears to be a ludicrously generous amount of value for money in the unlockable survival and puzzle modes amongst other diversions.

If this isn't in my top five games of the year come December, I am never going to spend a day of 2009 bored.

And those zombies definitely got themselves a sense of humour.

It's this lovely casual-strategy-arcade-tower defense thingy:

What sort of spec PC does this take to run it? Seen alot of very positive reviews for this.

I don't really play PC games so I doubt I'll ever play this but it's a very cool name nonetheless!!
Retro is a state of mind, and cares not for your puny concepts like dates and calendars.

An XBLA/PSN conversion should be pretty likely, it looks really good.

Download the demo from that link and try it.

I'm not sure the PS3 or 360 pads will be able to do it justice. DS would be perfect for it.

Just when you start to think the game is a little on the forgiving side, survival mode on hard is where things gets truly awesome. It's a bloodbath.

Just tried the demo, played it till I couldn't anymore. Very addictive. It seems so much simpler than other tower defence games, but it didn't get too boring. May just get this.

Dunno if it's worth full price on the wii on it's own though. I'd say if you could go into gamestation and buy a disk with this, World of Goo, and maybe something else on it, it'd be well worth it.

Been playing the demo myself and it's decent TD action with some interesting features. I've played so many TD games though that I'm a tad bored with the format these days.

I brought this pretty much instantly, its so fun.

Popcap are great developers, they had me addicted to peggle for a while.

For whoever posted before, this thing will run as long as you have windows xp.

I made it to 17 flags on Endless Survival last night. I had things nicely under control and then suddenly got obliterated. This game just got better.
