I did tell a couple of kids in school once that I used to own a SAM Coupe, but didn't have it anymore  I really wanted one at the time.

Asides from that, I've never lied about anything related to my collection.

Me? Nah, although I recently got a sit down Out Run cab (the deluxe hydraulic version) AND a deluxe Space Harrier cab to keep it company. Theyre in the garage. I would take a picture but I dont have a digital camera at the moment.

I'll get one once my original, fully restored Defender, Pacman, Bubble Bobble and Mr Do! cabs are installed next week- watch this space...

Not the same thing, but I once remember lying about beating me mates high-score on Tower of Evil on the C16, and getting found out as a dirty bullshitter as well

I'm not sure about specific games, with everyone going around the houses you'd soon be found out. More likely you'd just agree with having played something to be involved in a hyped conversation, and that it was the greatest thing since the last AAA release.

I don't think I've ever lied about having a game. I may have stretched the truth about the extent to which I play a certain game or console, but since I don't believe anything I hear and only half of what I see, why suspect anyone else does? So it is really pointless to go on about how many systems and games you own to me because unless you are either relatively rich or work in the industry you're unlikely to have an extensive collection of authentic wares. I know I've spent more on games and game hardware than most people spend on their entire home entertainment systems.

Frankly, I don't believe many of the reports about collections and ownership if it isn't backed up with pictures and I only give credit to original manufacturer's games, not bootlegs or other rip-offs. I look at the spine of the game box as it is sitting there on a shelf in someone's collection photograph looking for indications of authenticity.

I remember a guy I went to school with was pretty notorious for lying, and once he told me he'd been bought a Mega Drive with a variety of games, went on about how amazing it was and so on.

Of course, when I went round to his house there was no Mega Drive to be found. He claimed he had to 'give it back'. I vaguely remember his mum confirming that he never had one too.
