Sega Mega Drive Collection - Full Contents

Post by NonShinyGoose » Sun Dec 21, 2008 5:16 pm

This was covered in the magazine recently, but was looking on HMV website and there's a full list of titles. It's for Xbox 360 and PS3, if you're wondering.

Alex Kidd In The Enchanted Castle
Alien Storm
Altered Beast
Beyond Oasis
Bonanza Bros.
Columns
Comix Zone
Decap Attack starring Chuck D. Head
Dr. Robotnik's MBM
Dynamite Headdy
Ecco The Dolphin
Ecco II: The Tides Of Time
E-Swat
Fatal Labyrinth
Flicky
Gain Ground
Golden Axe I
Golden Axe II
Golden Axe III
Kid Chameleon
Phantasy Star II
Phantasy Star III: Generations Of Doom
Phantasy Star IV: The End Of The Millennium
Ristar
Shining In The Darkness
Shining Force
Shining Force 2
Shinobi III: Return Of The Ninja Master
Sonic 3D Blast
Sonic And Knuckles
Sonic Spinball
Sonic The Hedgehog
Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Sonic The Hedgehog 3
Streets Of Rage
Streets Of Rage 2
Streets Of Rage 3
Super Thunder Blade
Vectorman
Vectorman 2

Fair enough, we've seen most of them on previous Sega collections, but having all of the Phantasy Stars and Shining Forceseses is a boon! Dynamite Headdy is a nice surprise also.

I hope the achievements for the 360 version are nice and fun. Nothing could be worse than "Complete game X" or "Complete game Y"...

Not really anything on there that wasn't on the PS2 collection released last year save for Dynamite Headdy and I guess Streets of Rage 1-3 but they were on the Ntsc version anyway.

I'm up for buying this again only if it's a budget price collection... which it will be right?... surely?

I really wish they would do a second collection for the PSP.

They must at least of planned on it, due to the fact the first one was missing any Streets of Rage games and there were only 2 Sonic games.

I'm not keen on Sega bringing out another compilation. Its getting ridiculous now.

I loved the PSP version. Hardly worth buying this for the PS3 for a few extra games though (which I probably already own for the Megadrive anyway). It was just a nice touch on the PSP as it's portable.

I don't think there is a single game there that I don't already have on some format but it original cart, re-release or emulation.

Online leaderboards and interesting Gamer Achievements might sell this to me if done well, also the convienience of not having to swop machines around to play one if the 360 is connected and I can't be bothered setting up the PS2 or Xbox 1.

Will probably wait for it be to sub-£20.

I feel exactly the same way, that was the biggest draw of the last Mega Drive Collection to me, that there was a PSP version.

If they put Dynamite Headdy on it, they could've put the other Treasure games on there too. The ToeJam & Earl games are missing as well, says I. This collection really isn't needed, I'd be much happier to see a second PSP volume. Or perhaps just sack off the whole thing and give us a WolfTeam compilation!

I'm intrigued that there's no Shadow Dancer there, just like it was cut out from the PSP/PS2 Mega Drive Collection despite being on the US version. I don't really understand that.

I was thinking the same thing.. And no Super Shinobi either.. I wish they would release the Shinobi 2 beta's which is very different to the released Shinobi.. Space Harrier 2, Super Hang On etc

I know Phantasy Star 2 took me ages to complete as a kid and the shop I bought it from the previous owner had mapped the directions to go.. So those would take you forever..

Would have liked some arcade game unlockables like 'Arabian Fight and Astro Blaster and Zaxxon..

I own the PS2 Wonderboy collection and it has every Wonderboy on every system all playable from the start

Yeah, why's there no Wonder Boy games here? They have the opportunity to do something special, like "official" translations of Monster World IV and Yu Yu Hakusho and Rent-A-Hero, but this just seems like another lazy ROM collection. Bah.

afaik the wonderboy/adventure island/monster world ownership/copyright is all over the place and is probably the reason it's not included
