Is the IGN thing actually true about the Okami box art? If so, that really is shocking!

Not seen that Silent Hill box art before. The one I've seen for Homecoming is the one with a nurse sitting in the background.

Not surprised that most of these are Nintendo. When you're in the shovelware trade, that's the way your products look.

Oh yes, though only the US release I believe. I've had the game in my hands when over there and you can see if easily if you know where it is. Capcom offered a limited time replacement service to get an inlay without the watermark on it.

Bangai-O spirits on the DS for failing to show the explosive gameplay contained within that bland and undescriptive case. Such a shame.

And also the massive yellow box of German crap that covers about a fifth of the cover.

There has been some terrible boxart over the years, the original xbox launch line up were all ugly, halo had pretty crappy art and project gotham had a car at strange skewed angle.

The budget range games are always the worst offenders, usually its shmups that are butchered to death that have dodgy boxart just to make sure nobody buys them :)

Mass effect had boxart so ugly I couldn't bring myself to buy the game. This year has been a better than most.

I hate to say it but the newest cover for Beggar Price

I belive it was redesigned for the third production run and I really don't like that stupid cat thing and the Americanised fantasy painting style. I suppose this matches what happened to Beautiful Jap covers on Megadrive games back in the day. It's such a great game though and superfighter team should be commended for the tireless work they do :D
