Happy Birthday DC. When I bought the DC it reminded me of buying my Amiga. Incredible graphics with excellent games, even though it was sadly short lived. Has the best fighting game ever which is Soul Calibur. Also, not forgetting other games which I spent many hours on...MSR, Crazy Taxi, NBA 2K, Power Stone, Shenmue 1 & 2. A shame many I knew chose to ignore it.

Has it really been 10 years already? I remember getting mine the day I left school a year after it launched (21st of June if I recall correctly). Brilliant machine, had all of my favourite 2D fighters on there (MVC, SFA3, KOF, GG, CVS2 SF3 3rd Strike - the list goes on). Sega also ported/produced some genuinely fab games for the system as well such as Jet Set Radio, Shenmue, Crazy Taxi, House of the Dead 2, Headhunter, Rez. Still my favourite console ever and one that certainly didn't deserve to fail with all the quality games it had on it.

Happy birthday DC. It changed my life in a number of was my first introduction to the internet and chatrooms, I started talking to some very good friends on there (who I've met up with in real life and still keep in regular contact with today), heck, I even met my now ex-wife on there and we were together for 7 and a half years.

Oh, and it had a load of fantastic games too. ;) It was way ahead of it's time.

That is SPOOKY because on Sunday I needed to make some space on my desk and so I had to put my Dreamcast away in the wardrobe :( It was that, or my PS1, which I have so many more game for.

Anyway HAPPY BIRTHDAY good old Dreamcast :) Here's to the next 10 years.

Dead before I'd even played one, but my loss. Have two now and literally hundreds of games.

I was there on release date with my £250, I also bought Sega Rally 2. The same console is still going strong and was joined by a Japanese console earlier on in the year..... :D

I need to pick up this console asap. The other day I drew up a list of classic DC games to purchase and play over the next few months. So many quality games on what seems to be a beautiful machine.

Damn you Sony!

I got one recently as well. A great machine. I am have just started picking more games up for it. Damn Sony for being so successful. Damn Sega for not putting in a DVD drive, instead of the GD-ROM. Anyone a great machine. Shemnue is great on it.

Happy Birthday! Dreamcast!

I was unaware that it came out in Japan nearly a year earlier than the North American release date of 9/9/99. I didn't get mine until a day or two after the release of the PlayStation 2 over here which was over a year later on 26/10/00.

Happy Birthday! Dreamcast! :D

Fond memories of the DC.

I was at Uni at the time and purchased an import DC. Took it in and the guys had it running through the projector. VF3TB on a 13 foot screen :D:D:D

I doubt any game will stun me as much as the first time I saw Shenmue running. Also remember everyone providing an English soundtrack to my Jap copy - it was like playing a badly dubbed kung fu film. "You killed my father!", "You must be tired of living" etc. Classic.

Awesome machine.

Crap pad though.
