I recently helped out at an 'e-waste' recycling day, and was able to save from the stuff people were throwing out a PS1 modded to play NTSC games, with a Namco lightgun, and a PS2 (not working unfortunately) with a pair of Singstar mikes (which were working).

I have been very lucky in recent months and I am greatful to everyone who gave me stuff.

A friend was going travelling for a few months so she sold her house and in the clearout she gave me a Dreamcast, controllers etc as well as some games. One of them was a sealed copy of Rez :D

I was also given a few DC games that included Confidential Mission, Gigawing and Gauntlet.

A collegue saw me bringing in a speccy to work so we started talking about old games. He then said that he was moving and had found loads of his old Amiga stuff in the loft. He said if wanted it, I could have it. So in the end I got an A500, A1200 (which I absolutely love especially after putting a hard drive in it), a CDTV - sadly the CD drive doesn't work, some external disk drives and about 500 disks.

This week I given Fable 2 and PES 2009.

Now if only someone could give me some more time to actually play the damn things I would be in heaven.

about a year ago my friend moved house and when he explored his junk filled loft he found a working Vectrex with games and spare controller - which he gave to me for free. My only freebie - and an awesome one. :D

I once bought Jumping Flash in a Cash Converters, the guy behind the counter put the CD in the case, and noticed there was another CD with it... so he gave it to me. The game was IK+ (PS1). I didn't know what it was (now I know about IK), but I haven't tried yet...

The last decent free gaming related item that I received was a mint slim PS2 with 3 games, which was going to be thrown out when I moved into my new flat.
