WiiWare recommendations?

Post by SirClive » Sat Oct 11, 2008 7:31 am

I have some points doing nothing. Should I get anything on Wii Ware?
I already have Dr Mario (waste of good points if you ask me).

You're a tough one to please ;)

But I believe WiiWare Bomberman is meant to be good, though I've not played it myself.

Other than that, none of the WiiWare games appeal to me (Mega Man 9 is also on XBLA, and cheaper too I think?....plus you get Achievements....).

Aren't there any VC games you want? Have you already got SNES Super Mario RPG? That's well worth downloading if you haven't. Do Re Mi Fantasy is pretty good too.

Lost Winds is good but a little overrated in some circles.

If you've got a gun adapter, the wild west shooting one is excellent.

Personally, I've got more virtual console games than wiiware ones - Super mario, Mario 64, Super mario 3, Harvest Moon.

I did pick up Defend Your Castle, but it's nothing special - it was just cheap.

VC stuff I can get on PC emulation or the real thing so I am more interested in WiiWare. Was looking at the Wild West one earlier, so will probably get that.

Cheers.

I was going to get the Wild West one as well, Midnight Pool gets a decent write up, has anyone tried that?

Not tried it, but am thinking of getting it. I like the pool on wiiplay, but that's just like playing a one level demo.

Bomberman Blast, Star Soldier R and Toki Tori are the only ones I've bought so far but I've been happy with all of them...

Worth checking the reviews at www.wiiware-world.com before spending those points! ;)

MM9 is the same cost on all 3 platforms, all 3 also have achievements the only difference being 12 of them on the Xbox 360 version count toward your overall gamerscore.
Saying that I'd recommend either Lost Winds or MM9 as both are very good.

Well, if you're into adventure games and can enjoy (pretty good) American humour the Strong Bad episodes are a great choice.

Isn't the Space invaders one going to be a pay for levels game? That seems like a bit of a swiz to me.

Am thinking I may go with the My Life As King game. Looked at the videos on the site Marko suggested and I can't say anything really excited me.
